Thanks for the tip, tried that right off and it passed with flying colors. It's worth noting that the diagnostics screen is blank as well when booted cold.

    I just purchased a M6600 @ Dell Outlet -
    I7-2720M 2.2Ghz Quadcore (I7-2720QM?)
    Windows 7 Professional
    17.3 Ultrasharp 1920x1080 LED
750 GB SATA (7200 RPM) HDD - I just purchased a Crucial 128 GB M4 SDD and I will re-install the system. Thanks to this forum, I avoided the cheaper but faster Kingston (and other SSDs with the same controller) due to reliability issues.
    AMD Firepro 8900 2GB
4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333Mhz (2 DIMMs) - I would like to replace this with 32 GB DDR3 SRAM 1600Mhz (4 DIMMS) Will my system recognize it and will it be faster than 32GBb/13333Mhz on my system?

During config I always read it could have 16GB of 1600mhz, or 32GB of 1333mhz. Not sure why (maybe heat?)

Maybe limitation at that bus speed? 1600mhz will be faster though, but VERY VERY minimal reading on the forums. In modern games some were seeing 2-3 FPS increase in maxed out gaming machines (less then 2-3% increase)

I have seen it happen with I was switching monitors, docking, and undocking the machine. There has always been a dock involved and I have only seen it happen twice and both times were within a week of each other. It could have been related to the specific Nvidia drivers I was running or could have been specific to the way I was using the machine that week.

Mine too - M4600. I think it is operating system dependant thing. In my other laptops it also blinked pretty much constantly with the interval of 1-2 sec. I don't remember how it is in Windows XP or Linux.

Did the outlet ship your M6600 upside down? All 3 of our M6600 were shipped that way.

I know this wasn't addressed to me, but my outlet M6600 was shipped upside down as well. By upside down I mean I could see the bottom of the laptop when the top of the box was opened.

For those that have not had a outlet M6600, the packing is different. They have a cardboard tray that the laptop sits on, then they use a strong plastic film to secure it. It actually works pretty well in transit. We thought that was bad for the screen to be riding upside down with the pressure on it, not to mention the finished lid being against the cardboard, though they did slide a foam sheet in between ( didn't cover the whole lid though)
