I feel your pain. I'm getting my 3rd one tomorrow and this time they managed to give me the wrong wireless card. They claim the 6250 is an upgrade from the 6300, but I have no use for WiMax and I'd rather have the 3 antennas. Good news is they are sending me the 6300 and letting me swap it myself. I had to agree to the downgrade :)

I've been using the same nVidia driver with Premier Pro cs5.5 without those issues. Is Premier Pro's Renderer set to "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accelerated", not just the software engine? I think I had add the text "Quadro 3000M" manually to cuda_supported_cards.txt located in \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 so Premier Pro would think the Quadro was on its "cuda supported list".

You also want to make sure you are actually running Premier Pro with the nVidia not the integrated graphics.

Sounds like I will need to hold on to my 6300N in my current M6600 if the replacement shows up with an oddball 6250N in there! :p

Speaking of orders and such, anyone getting delays on factory production M6600's? My M6600 replacement is coming as a factory new and according to my Case Manager, the factory in China ran out of HDD's, so production is right now delayed until new drives come in. He is saying the earliest possible new batch shipment is on the 26th.

    Very interesting...
Followed advise, and once opened cuda_supported_cards.txt i added my Quadro 3000M to the list; the only cards that were present in the list were:
    GeForce GTX 285
    Quadro CX
    Quadro FX 3800
    Quadro FX 4800
    Quadro FX 5800

I verified Premier Pro's Renderer setting, and it is set to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accelerated.

I also verified that the gpu was recognized in Premiere doing:
    1. Go to All Programs, then Accessories.
    2. click on Command Prompt
    3. Type cd \ it will give you a C:\> Prompt.
    4. Type in cd \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. It will give you a C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro> Prompt
    5. Type in GPUSniffer.exe

By the way, here is a screen shot of Premiere cs5 while rendering with standard effects applied, showing how it'll "flicker" the effect over the entire scene.

In addition with Optimus enabled in Bios (A07), when i launch Photoshop cs5, at startup it will randomly recognize (or not) the quadro 3000M....
Moreoften on fresh boot, with Optimus enabled, if i launch Photoshop cs5 and try to check if the quadro is recognized in settings, the program crashes. I'll have to re-launch Photoshop, and instantly will get a warning window like this. Short translation: A driver problem has been detected, GPU optimizations have been disabled. etc., etc.
If i re-boot Windows, disable Optimus in Bios, Photoshop launches with no problem and i can manually enably GPU optimization in preferences. From then on, it runs ok.

Last but not least, with default Dell driver for the 3000m, i had more or less the same issues but at least the machine fans rarely went on, and when they did they were very silent.
Since i installed the 285.62-notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql driver, launching Photoshop or Premiere swithes on machine fans immediatly (for short but frequent intervals... they spin loud and fast, and machine gets pretty hot)...

    I'm desperate...

First, if for any reason Photoshop has a GPU crash, you have to go into the Edit -> Preferences -> Performance -> Enable OpelGL Drawing. You have to check that box to re-enable OpenGL GPU drawing. It will NOT automatically try to use the GPU acceleration each time you open it. You will get the GPU error over and over when you start it until you go in and check that box.

While you are there, go to advanced settings and kick up the performance of the GPU.

Here is my stock from Adobe cuda_supported_cards.txt list:

    GeForce GTX 285
    GeForce GTX 470
    GeForce GTX 570
    GeForce GTX 580
    Quadro CX
    Quadro FX 3700M
    Quadro FX 3800
    Quadro FX 3800M
    Quadro FX 4800
    Quadro FX 5800
    Quadro 2000
    Quadro 2000D
    Quadro 2000M
    Quadro 3000M
    Quadro 4000
    Quadro 4000M
    Quadro 5000
    Quadro 5000M
    Quadro 5010M
    Quadro 6000
    Tesla C2075

...also, when rendering in CS5, there is no need in my opinion to have Optimus enabled since you want the NVIDIA CUDA cores active all the time. In addition to what has already been suggested, go in to your BIOS and disable Optimus. Your cooling fan will be more active because your 3000M will be enabled 100% of the time, but the software confusion [switching] should go away.

    Speculation:
Probably not until a couple/few months after Ivy Bridge is available. Wouldn't be surprised if they launch the M6700 with Ivy Bridge sometime during the summer.
