Yes, the new 128/256GB Samsiung PM830 mSATA cardS are SATA-III with full performance. I just received one in a new Dell XPS-13 UB that arrived yesterday. These are some very fast mSATA devices. More info is HERE.

Interesting. Is that the same as would ship on an M6600 if I ordered now?

And also, if I remember correctly on the M6500, if I didn't order all the drives installed, they didn't ship the machine with the hardware to be able to retrofit later - all of mine back then were ordered with dual 256Gb encrypted SSD's so that wasn't an issue, but I'd like to put my own drives in this time. Is that still the case? (i.e. if I wanted to populate all the drive bays with aftermarket SSD's, I'd need to order the mSATA + 2 HDD's?)

I am not sure if they are shipping these new D/PN NF8WY (128GB) in the current M6600. The cards seem to have a 02/2012 date code on them so they are oven fresh. I would ask Dell or confirm on your order list if you move forward with the purchase. You may be able to source the PM830 from a third party as well if you look around.

These business systems typically come with all the extra antenna leads, HDD cages and mini-PCI slots ready to go. At least this was the case with the 5 systems I have seen in person in addition to my own.

    No search required.

    1. Fn + Right arrow keys. An pop up overlay will appear showing brightness settings for "On", 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and "Off".

    2. Or you can preset the settings to a certain brightness at the bios.

Is the touchpad glass or just plastic?

What your first experience on quality on this ultrabook ? Keyboard, screen brightness...and other built in apps any good or same old Dell untested softwares?

hi Sorry for bumping at that thread but I was looking for an info on how to swoop a standard screen with an IPS one on a dell m6600? Did anyone succeded in doing that? From what I know the IPS won't work with the ati 8900m and you will loose nVidia optimus as the IPS screen can't be supported by integrated intel HD 3000. Is it true that I'll need some additional parts/cables? Will it fit dell m6600 with a touch screen or does it have to be a standard screen cover?-they are different thickness from what i know. I can source an IPS screen for about £200. Thanks in advance for any info

ok I've found this: Parts needed to swoop Standard screen with an IPS. Does anyone managed to get them I was checking on the dell website but it is impossible to find them? I think I'll drop it, it's just too complicated I'll probably just mess it up.

Also, video cable #1 plugs into a different connector on the motherboard just behind the "standard" connector. And, motherboard DP/N is the same as non-RGB motherboard. (at least for the 2 that I compares)

Everything else (webcam + antenna boards) appear the same. If they are not, I was not able to tell upon just visual inspection and I did not want to disturb them.

Time setting for keyboard is on the Keyboard applet of Control Panel, note it is a "Dell" tab so you may have to install from their CD if you refreshed your laptop (see attachment to this message)

    Hello - I have a question.
There is so much conflicting information concerning switchable graphics on the Precision M6600 with the ATI FirePro M8900 graphics card.

Can someone please confirm whether it does or doesn't have the switchable graphics solution to increase battery life.
