Is that 10-15% based on program/GFX card supported acceleration? He mentioned about cost/price on a raid SSD setup so I figured he may be looking to save a few bucks.

2960XM and non-SSD vs 2760QM/2860QM and SSD, I would think you would see a noticeable deference with the lower clocked CPU and SSD.

You would need to ask Bokeh. He is pretty much the M6600 guru. I did not get the 5100M as it was so much more than the 4000M. Now I regret it, not because the 4000M is bad but because the 5100M is so much better.

if it was me - it would be a no brainer. Get the lower clock CPU and spend the extra on the SSD. you will get higher overall performance

How do you use the FPR to login into websites? 3rd party software?

Why not just buy the cheapest drive and use an SSD bought somewhere else?
I.have never heard an SSD crashed yet....

    I actually said the 5010M is a 25% - 35% increase over the 4000M :)

I see at least a 25% increase in the 5010M over the 4000M in the games I own. Batman Arkam City and Shogun 2 have more of an increase. Civilization 5 and World of Warcraft less. I think it depends on how many of the DX11 features they are using. Not sure.

I see similar increases in Autocad 2012, 3ds Max, Maya, and Revit.

Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 uses it less overall, but Premier Pro benefits greatly. Maybe CS6 will use the GPU more, have not read up on it yet.

On video, Sony Vegas Pro would usually do well with the 4000M, but would sometimes stutter just a little when you had a lot of effects going on and were doing real time playback previews of video. The little extra oomph of the 5010M gets rid of this.

We have seen a few here. Usually the cheapest brands. When they go, they are gone. No recovering some data and just losing what was on the bad sectors. No pulling tricks to get a main bearing to work long enough to pull data. The SSDs that we saw worked, and then didn't, and never worked again.

I stick with Intel, Samsung and Crucial.

I've seen a cheap intel die (the ones they sold at BB) - it was used primarily for readyboost / page file type things
And I've had an OCZ vertex something die.... that one was rma'd and the replacement has been working as a cache drive for at least 6 months...

The best luck I've had has been with a Mushkin IOS (their early sata 2 drives) I've got one that's down to 31% of it's usable life, so I think I'll actually be able to bring that one to the end of it's available writes... it was used a lot with an oracle db :)

I've also had an intel 510 that's been going for around 8 months....

Recently I've picked up 2 of the new sandisk drives.. I'm going to convert my m6600 to only using the sandisks (I do backups all the time so I'm not terribly worried if I lose one).. but from what I've read they should be safe...

Thanks for all your responses.. I did order the following as I was going to do in the first place:

    2960XM CPU
    Quadro 5010m GPU
    IPS RGB Display
    16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
    2 x 750GB 7200 RPM HDD - Raid1 Configuration

I appreciate some of you trying to save me $$ but it wasn't about that. I don't change my personal computer for many years so I would rather get current top of the line CPU & GPU as I stated I can always swap out the HDDs for SSDs as they increase in capacity and reliability and come down in price. It is not so much the money that is stopping me from getting SSDs but more so that I really need the 750GB.

Bokeh sold me on the Quadro 5010M hands down.. THANK YOU!!!

My only concern was possible Thermal Issues which nobody responded to and your thoughts on Raid 1.. Also, does that Kingston RAM actually perform better than what Dell provides? Fell free to answer as I am curious but my order has been placed.. Couldn't wait.. Very excited!! ;)

    Thanks again!!
    Robert
