Does the M6600 have a real hardware RAID controller? Allowing parallel write and read on the 2x 2.5" HDD ?

the 1333 mhz ram that came in mine (I needed it in a hurry so got a pre-configured) is made by Hynix... don't remember the specs, not bad necessarily, just good safe ram...

the Hyperx is faster in that case, and to get 16gb from dell just costs too much considering how easy it is to replace anyway :)

Are you saying the Hyperx is faster comparing your new 1600mhz to 1333mhz -or- 1600mhz Hyperx is faster than 1600mhz Brand XYZ??

Checking in here, extremely excited to have pulled the trigger on an M6600 from the Dell Outlet. Looks like I'm going to order the Kingston 8gb 1600mhz ram referenced earlier in the thread but otherwise, happy with the specs. I have an Intel 320 160gb SSD to throw in so this thread and other threads will be super helpful. Thanks in advance to all 441 pages which helped my purchase decision.

It's almost the fastest memory on newegg.... there are some that have a lower tRAS spec (I think A-Data is 24 vs 27 for the hyperex)... but it's the fastest memory that I'd trust :)

this post main aim is to thank Bokeh,

He has been the most helpful, utmost honest, impartial in replies regarding configuration options, technical know- how about precision M6600.

I have had many doubts regarding choice of certain parts and their performance with respect to heat, money etc and toms hardware, anandtech, even reading many pages of this forum did not answer them in some cases at all or answers were incomplete.

I troubled Bokeh with long list of questions in various posts etc and he replied quickly with clear details.

Thanks to him, i am almost on the verge of finalizing config. and have gained some valuable knowledge in the process .:) :) :) :) :) :D

Also i have read almoast 10 pages worth of his replies and that was the reason i contacted him in thw first place. His replies are insightful, honest, backed up with proper generally self tested data.

Not to forget the review , it was simply great. I have read many forums in past two months for finalizing bike, and laptop and generally find most of members blindly supporting their product, thus confusing propective owners even more .

His review is true and so are his replies- i beleive you should try reviewing products professionaly if you are not doing it already!!:)

Jeez - way to make a guy blush. Happy to help you.

I have finished measurements on a second M6600 with with an IPS panel and will be posting a review of the panel today or tomorrow if all goes well. Just have to finish up some photography that will make the difference between the panels very clear.
