Nice update with better CPU and HDMI, it's already available in Denmark:

I just wish there was an 1440x900 pixel option for the screen, then it would be perfect.

I don't understand what Dell is doing?
I was really interested in the V13/Latitude 13, but held off because the battery life was poor. Since we are seeing laptops with 9-10hrs of battery life and ultraportables with about 5 hrs, I was hopeful Dell would hit this one out of the park, especially with the release of the new MBA.

Instead they release a ultraportable with 2+ hrs of battery life - worse than the V13? Maybe Dell feels people are willing to trade battery life further for a processor known to be a little faster, but I'm doubting it.

Hopefully they have something else up their sleeves to release sometime soon.

Yeah, the main problem with this model is the battery life, it was not that good before and now even worse, I don't get it either...

Dell actually decreased battery capacity, from 34WHr to 30WHr! Talk about a step in the wrong direction.

In comparison, an E6410/E6510 has a 60WHr battery, while even some of the cheapest Black Friday "doorbuster" notebooks have 47WHr batteries. Apple was criticized for the 5 hour battery life of the 11 inch MacBook Air, which has a 35WHr battery.

Now Dell is has introduced a subnotebook with a 2:45 to 3 hour battery life? What were they thinking?

Regarding the 30WHr battery I guess it probably has to do with the new cooling feature from Intel, which most likely works in concert with a particular voltage of the battery. So it comes down to what you value more - less heat or more battery life.

I don't think heat was really an issue before. The battery life issue hasn't been improved, it might actually be worse.

Overall, I don't value an ultra-thin subnotebook that's crippled by limited battery capacity. What's the point of the compact form factor if you can't stray very far from a power outlet.

The Vostro V130 doesn't represent a reasonable compromise on any level. Show me another notebook with this sort of hardware and such a crippled battery life? I can't imagine anyone recommending this notebook, even with pre-loaded Ubuntu and the bargain pricing.

The hardware is nice, but yeah, I don't understand why Dell can't have a larger battery in a slim case, when Apple can do it.
