Yes, glossy displays are horrible. Never again will I buy a laptop with glossy screen. I'm really glad they are offering RGB LED with matte. I guess I just need to get one and try it out.

On Dell's configurator, it seems there is no option about backlit keyboard, it states only "internal qwerty standard keyboard".
    A step backward?

What country are you ordering from? I see it in my list. Make sure you are not picking a standard config and pick the custom option.

One note, shipping date as of yesterday April 27th???

I live in Italy. No, not standard configuration but customized.
Maybe Dell's configurator must be updated.

It seems that Dell is plagued by the same delays experienced from other business notebook sellers too (lenovo and HP).

I really just can't get over the price difference between Lenovo and Dell on this refresh. A laptop with the same specs is costing $700 more in the new E series over the Lenovo. I'm assuming that a small business dell outlet coupon will be coming out today, in which case I may just end up grabbing an e6500 again for half the cost.

YES! WooHoo! *how sad..I'm excited about a business laptop refresh :p*

They've finally gotten rid of the darker finish and returned to their light silver roots on the lid. Not bad, and it makes a greater distinction between the 6XXX line and the 5XXX line.

More importantly, it's still available in blue and red, which is cool. I thought they might drop those options because it seems that not a lot of people go for it. If only it was in Orange like the Covet Precision *sighs*

I agree, the silver option looks very slick. If I get one it's what I'm going for. I'll miss my blue laptop though. :(

Just curios has any one pull the trigger yet?
It's really tempting for me to order one now since I was looking for a laptop for weeks. I know it's not a wise move to order a product when it just came out. But the new E6410 looks so good.

I would pull the trigger on the E6510 IF they had the RGB LED screen in 1920x1080 resolution. If it isn't one thing, it's another. I've narrowed down the choices for my next laptop to either the Lenovo T510 or Dell E6510. The T510 does have high gamut LED panel with 1920x1080, but Lenovo is currently experiencing supply issues and there is no ETA when this will be available for order again (according to the Lenovo sales rep I spoke to this morning). If a coupon or good deal comes along for the E6510, I may just order it with 1600x900 RGB LED. Either machine would be a nice upgrade.

I thought the same thing you did (that there was no 1920x1080 screen), but if you check the other "base" configurations, it is an option. I don't know why it doesn't show up on all configurators, but I suspect it is just an oversight. If nothing else, I'm sure you could call in to place your order.

I will be purchasing an E6510 with full HD screen and i5 processor as soon as Dell adds the new Latitudes to the Employee Purchase Program. They need to discount it to make it competitive with the T510.

On the subject of Lenovo, the rep I spoke with yesterday said they should have the full HD panels available again for the T510 by the end of April.
