Just priced one out and based on what I did, the vostro came out a bit cheaper in the end. Granted it doesn't 3 years support/accidental, a slightly faster processor, and better resolution screen - but all in all, almost the same. Just hope the quality is there vs the latitude series.

I had an online chat session with a Dell SMB rep this afternoon (My time in AFG) and told her that I was disappointed that the only processor showing up for the E6510 was the 720M.

She had no idea what I was talking about. I had to send her the link to get to the configurator page.

She says it's not supposed to be up yet and that she had no idea when the release date was going to be.

So just a few minutes ago I went back to the site and there's even more content than there was about three hours ago.

They MUST be getting ready to announce.

She told me if I had tried to add the system I was configuring to my cart the order wouldn't go through anyway.

I'm definitely NOT buying an E6510 if they only offer a 720M, that's for damn sure!

That's because you're choosing the option on the far right. Choose the option on the far left and you'll see the following:

Intel® Core™ i5-520M (2.4GHz, 3M cache) with Turbo Boost Technology [Included in Price]
    Intel® Core™ i5-540M (2.53GHz, 3M cache) with Turbo Boost Technology [add $50.00]
    Intel® Core™ i7-620M (2.66GHz, 4M cache) with Turbo Boost Technology [add $120.00]
    Intel® Core™ i7-720M (1.60GHz, 6M cache) with Turbo Boost Technology [add $180.00]

However, something interesting that I have noticed is that the display options are different depending on which you choose of the three selections.

    Left Selection:
    15.6" HD (1366 x 768) Anti-Glare LED Display [Included in Price]
    15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED Display [add $129.00]

    Middle Selection:
    15.6" HD (1366 x 768) Anti-Glare LED Display [Included in Price]
    15.6" HD+ (1600 x 900) Wide View Anti-Glare RGB LED Display [add $79.00]

    Right Selection:
    15.6" HD (1366 x 768) Anti-Glare LED Display [Included in Price]
    15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED Display [add $129.00]

They definitely still have some updating to do, as they refer to the computer as the E6500 in multiple instances. For example:

Dell should probably change that 720QM. There is no i7-720M (which would imply dual core according to their current naming scheme).

omg, prices are outrageous. Without more competitive pricing, I don't see the 6410/6510 as serious competition to the Thinkpad T series and the new Elitebooks.

Does anybody know if the E6410 still has the Alps touchpad, or have they finally wised up and used a Synaptics pad?

Here in the UK - the Dell prices comfortably undercut the Thinkpad prices (at least they did when I looked earlier in the day).

Nice find. The middle selection with RGB LED is the one I want. I was disappointed when I didn't see it as an option for the left selection :)
