OK form what I can see from Dell US:
    The E6410 features:
    - "high-quality" speaker
    - noise reduction microphone (I see 2 mics on the cover)
    - Dell Latitide ON
    - Black cover is now silver
    - Color models have the base in black.
    - Palm rest scratching by screen frame issue seams to be resolved with the added 2 pads on the screen frame. Did they fix the marking problem? Who knows.
    - Ambient light sensor has moved up, at the same level as the webcam
    - Apparently Dell says it has a HD webcam (I'll believe it when I'll see it)

    Specs are as said:
    CPU
    Intel® Core™ i7-620M (2.66GHz, 4M cache) (with Turbo Boost Technology)
    Intel® Core™ i5-540M (2.53GHz, 3M cache) (with Turbo Boost Technology)
    Intel® Core™ i5-520M (2.4GHz, 3M cache) (with Turbo Boost Technology)

    OS
    - Win7 32-bit
    - Win7 64-bit
    - Vista 32-bit
    - Vista 64-bit
    XP is no option. (Finally!)

    Display:
    14.1" WXGA+ Anti-Glare LED Display (1440x900)
    14.1" WXGA Anti-Glare LED Display (1280x800)

    RAM:
    up to 8GB DDR3

    GPU:
    NVIDIA NVS 3100M 512MB gDDR3
    Intel HD Graphics

    Features:
    - Smart Card Reader and Contactless Smart Card Reader is now an option to have it or not.

    Warranty:
    - Starting at 3 year warranty

Magnesium Alloy LCD back and Base
    Color choices available

    Dimensions:
    Weight & Dimensions:
Starting weight: 4.26 lbs/1.93 kg (with 4-cell battery)
    Width: 13.2"/335mm
    Height: (front/back) 1-1.2"/25.4-31.2mm

    Battery options:
4-cell (37Wh) Lithium Ion battery (optional)
6-cell (60Wh) Lithium Ion high capacity battery (standard)
    9-cell (90Wh) Lithium Ion high capacity battery(optional) - 90Wh, that is nice!
3 Year life-time 9-cell (81Wh) Lithium Ion (optional) - really?! - It's 150$US more interesting to see battery life and if it really lasts 3 years.
12-cell (88Wh) Extended battery slice (optional) - Ah they upgraded it!

    E6400: 335.0 x 238.3 x 25.4-31.0mm

    E6410: 335 x 238.3 x 25.4-31.2mm

    E6500: 358.0 x 257.0 x 27.4-33.3mm

    E6510: 374.3 x 253.3 x 27.9-33.0mm

So the E6510 is 20mm wider than the E6500 and 39mm wider than the E6400 / E6410. The extra width does make space for what appear to be reasonably sized speakers each side of the keyboard.

Vista Business or Ultimate with downgrade to XP Pro are options on the Dell UK site.

To John and others, on your countries' Dell sites it's clearly states
that on 6410 there is "internal backlit keyboard" or there is "internal qwerty standard keyboard"?
    Thanks

On the UK site I see:
It is quite possible that one has to order by telephone if a backlit keyboard is wanted. This was the situation with the E6x00. However, the product details mention a backlit keyboard under the Smart Controls without any indication that it is optional so there's the possibility that Dell has made it standard (in which case they should clearly say so).

But if you go to the US Site, then to the e6410 and choose the left ase model, then you have the choice:

Internal English Keyboard [Included in Price]
Internal English Backlit Keyboard [add $49.00]

On the German Site there`s also no possibility to chose backlit keyboard, so (I came to terms with the silver) I`ll call them next week and maybe order an E6410. I`ll have to see whats possible via phone order.

    At the moment I miss:
    backlit keyboard
4GB RAM (ok I could buy it otherwhere)
Intel Pro Wireless 6300 (is it worth the extra 25€/$?)
possibility to cancel extended battery warranty
maybe 1 extra year Next Business Day On-Site Service

Chat Roulette just got a whole lot more interesting! :p

It'll be interesting because the 9 cell on the D series is notoriously finicky, I needed a warranted replacement just a month or two after I got my D630. And other people on dell.com reviewed it and said the same thing.

For what it's worth, my dream config came to $1,500 bucks lol.

You know about that interesting 3 year -cell battery battery of the E6410.. I wonder if it works on the E6400. I could get that one instead of the normal 9-cell.

I interpret this somewhat differently. If you read the "help me choose" window, it says that there is a 3 year warranty on the battery - it's not clear if the battery will really last 3 years or that it's simple warrantied for 3 years if it craps out - and this is for the 81 watt-hr battery. It also cost an additional $70.

Also, the hi-capacity battery (90 watt-hr) can be purchased with an extended warranty for the second and third years for an additional $90 - only $20 more spread out over 3 years. This may be a better buy.
