But just like everyone didn't want it went 16:9!! damnation, oh well ddr2 still rocks and etc.. but this machine is like the ultimate portable beast! lol I wonder how this will be paired up with a 12 cell battery. Base price starts of at 1224 euro equals to 1,400 or so USD i believe.

Yeah i tend to agree, the design should of just been revamped upon, like the new HPs.

What's so special about those HPs? They look fairly generic to me as well. Plus, it's the power within that counts. :D

Oh, and after my experience with HP drivers and support for their printers, I avoid them like the plague.

They're smaller for a start, and pretty close in power to the M4500 model. I also think if there's anywhere a 16:9 screen ratio makes sense it's in a 14" workstation. Looking at the new workstation lineups, I feel a bit torn between the smallest 14" model or the larger 17" models, if you really do want maximum power. The 16:9 15.6" models fall through the cracks a bit as far as I'm concerned.

Pirx, i have a hp printer and it won't even work with windows 7 but hey its like 5 years old just got to change out the hard drive and put another one in and use windows vista to print things out oh well lol. In terms of weight, design and power, the hps have always looked a bit cooler looking than the dell precisions, but that 14 inch hp 8440m might be a consideration someday for me just to have a portable quadcore i7! Can't beat that you know? Also when you use big machines all the time you kinda get tired of having a large machine on your table and you go small for a bit even though one just uses the ultra portable only outside like myself but at times i do like using something small and yet very powerful on my desk just for homework etc.. but hey that is just me. I know this is going to start a blood feud....

Not with me. You know, I have been eyeing that 15" Envy for the longest time. I might have bought one by now were it not for my printer experiences I alluded to above. I have no trouble admitting that many of the HPs are better looking than Dells. I have never seen an 8440w in person, however, and the pictures I have found on the web don't look that special. On the other hand, I think the M4500 (and the M440, for that matter) do look fairly decent. I am almost certain by now that I am going to order me an M4500 the day they become available.:D

P.S.: Of course, if the made a "Covet" version of these, with edge-to-edge RGBLED panel, that might look fairly cool. Throw in a sexy color for the case, and you're golden.
