If they add USB3 to it a month later like they did to the M6500 I say we riot. My non-USB3 M6500 is nice but... ARRRRGHHH!

Memory upgrades are pretty much never worth it if you are a purchasing it for yourself and don't mind opening up the notebook. As for the M4400, it depends on your usage - if you don't run programs that can fully utilize the CPU or GPU and are on a budget, the M4400 could be just as fast and save you a whole lot of money.

How did you get that price? I am stressing on whether to order the M4500 or the HP Elitebook 8540w with a similar configuration. I did not get anywhere in your price range with my online configs.

The HP Elitebook 8540w with quad-core cpu is more expensive, it starts from 3000$!

Interesting I didn't know that happened. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm sure it will happen!

I don't understand why usb 3 wasn't added to begin but I guess we'll see.

What does the add on card for USB3 look like that they use in m6500? Is it literally something that is added in, where are the ports?

Reading more has me thinking about USB 3. I buy for roughly a 3 year period and I don't think there's any doubt that within that 3 year period USB 3 will become the standard (if you disagree, let me know)

True, but HP has a 24% off coupon right now... Does Dell have similar coupons for the M4500?

With a 24% off coupon the HP's price starts from 2300$, the M4500's with quad-core cpu starts from 1724$ without any coupon

Yes, but that start price includes the 1800M graphics card, though. But Either way, do you know a phone number where I can contact Dell so I can discuss prices?

If you are going to comparison shop, you get the best dual core pricing from the pre-config 8540w ($1680+free docking station) and best quad core pricing from W510 (configurable). If I was going for the 1800M, I'd go for an HP since Dell uses a GDDR3 1800 instead of GDDR5 (or at least wait until everything in clearly bench marked).
