New video drivers change the way Digital Vibrance is handled.

On the first drivers and modded inf drivers neutral was 50% vibrance. 0% was black and white. The driver defaulted to neutral which was the 50% setting.

On the new driver from Dell its preset to 67% after install, so unless you change the setting its artificially sweetened color. Also, 0% is now neutral instead of 50% (no added vibrance). So instead of 0% being b&w, 0% is now neutral. 50% is now 50% more color than is neutral.

Colors when set to neutral are the same as the other drivers when you check with a colorimeter.

    Bokeh,

I am a new member to the forum and I joined just to thank YOU.

I received my M6500 Covet today. 12 gigs of memory, and the RGBLED display with the improper preset color profiles :)

Anyway, no matter what I tried, I could not connect via wifi. I even walked the beast to the wireless router and I got 1 signal bar, but then it disconnected.

So off to the internet, I found this thread, I found your post about checking three little antenna wires at the wifi card. AND, I saw your pix posted way back on this thread.

I disassembled the back, and whadya know: None of the three wires were connected. You took a close up of that wifi card and it even showed the color coding of the wires (well, it was also marked on the card itself - but saw that afterwards).

Put it all back together, and 5 by 5 signal has now arrived.

    Dude.... thank you.

    Adam

p.s. Obviously you are a photog with a name like bokeh. I am also - I shoot with a Canon 1D MIII and 1DsMIII with a MarkIV on the way (will sell the MIII if you're interested to finance the Mark IV).

They showed up on the Dell UK site first. Dumping all browser cache made the US site show up with the new drivers.

I am skeptical about USB 3.0 magically showing up. I am expecting a bios update soon, so maybe it will show up then.

This is the only area that gets hot on mine. Make sure
that when you use it on your lap that all 3 air intakes are clear of
your lap. Heat probably depends on what your running. A
few hours of world of warcraft or cod mw2 was no big deal with mine heat wise.
