everything else is just warm around the port, i would say about 10 degrees hotter than the grills of the fans, all air intakes are clear but the e dock it self is more like 50 degrees hotter, cant even touch it while everything around it really really very little warm than the air intakes.

yes both fans are runnning, iv just been browsing the web, nothing that should be taking a lot of power.

Adam - glad you were able to get yours working. I know at least one Dell manager watches this thread and hopefully your experience will not happen
to other people. Dell is supposed to have a testing phase to catch this stuff. The 5300 is a great wireless card, but it has to have that 3 antennae array
to do its magic. Can't believe they did not connect them. There is no way those connectors wiggled loose. I know one other person had this same issue. Dont know if they opened thier computer or put in a service call.

Glad the photos helped. They were a quick shoot with a 5dmkii and a
24-70/2.8. If i were still shooting sports I would look at your cam for sale, but these days I spend most of my days working the day job.

Glad to know someone knows what bokeh means. Even happier that
someone knows what kind bokeh a full-frame sensor and an 85/1.2L can produce.

Grats on the M6500. Let us (or at least me) know how your calibrations go. Still hoping for a mobile screen that I can proof on. Sure you are too.

Is this an e dock or the e dock connector on the bottom of the machine?

Honestly not sure. I have not paid much attention to the dock. I do leave the battery spacer in the retracted position to give it more space for air flow. I only have heat in the back of the machine. The battery end stays
relatively cool. Wish I had better info to share.

i dont have the edock it self, im talking about the part in the bottom of the laptop that connects to the dock, basicly yah the edock connector.... it gets really really hot. i do have about 2" of gab between the floor and that laptop or when i have it in my lap, i keep the air vents clear, but that connector always get really hot. Maybe i should contact dell?

Grats on that too! Amazing tool to work with. I actually still pause
in awe of it when it comes out of the bag. 1.2 in no light. 1.8-2.0 and its tack sharp. Used to be in a group of photographers that called ourselves the bokeh bast*rds. This was back in those heady Canon D30/D60 days when we relearned how to shoot and experiment with the instant feedback of digital.

I still think the m6500 should have been black with a red stripe :)

That connector gets very warm on mine too. Not quite as hot as the very back of the machine. I need to check your sig line to see what
processor and gpu you are running. I am assuming that you are not overclocking and are not running throttlestop.

At the end of the day calling Dell is your decision. They are trained on how to troubleshoot these machines. We are still the early adopters
of a new design and we are building up our knowledgebase. Whatever you do, try to let the rest of us know what to expect and what you find out.
