[IMG] The HDD Light is never blinking at all when the computer is ON (the light is always off).

Is it normal for SSD Drives?

    Thanks

Here it is! Now the only way to be sure there are two different types of SEC5443 is to check the adobe gamut on wled and rgb screens...

Hi absynthe, I think everyone in here use Samsung Screen, include Bokeh.
    Look at his post:
    "Is this the part number?
    J501T - Liquid Crystal Display,17WUXGA,Red/Green/Blue,Light Emitting Diode,AG,Samsung,2
and this is the part number from the order -
    320-1131 - 17" UltraSharp WUXGA (1920x1200) RGB LED Display for M6500
    MONITOR\SEC5443 under hardware ID So...J501T = SEC5443 "
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=439109&page=116

Once he opened it, he got more information about his screen:
    "My panel says:
    170UXGA / FPC LED V 0.5 on the cable
LTN170CT08 on the front in the metal and on the back sticker
Here is the rest of the info from the back:
    LTN170ct08-D01
    0946 17.0 WUXGA
    GC9J24 106B D01 (possibly 6C9J24)
    DPN 0J501T
    USP6639589/USP5280371"

So... No LG screen anymore for M6500. Look at my capture

Delayed another week. I originally put my requisition into our IT people on the 4th December (it got ordered on the 15th) and I will have waited at least 2 months before I see the laptop. :( RGBLED screens are now expected into the Dell factory on Friday. And now we know why they're in short supply...

Almost everyone has specified an RGBLED screen! I don't think Dell will have expected that - they were presumably targeted at photographers, graphic artists etc. But I guess if you're buying a 6500, you may as well have it fully loaded. I'm sat here waiting with my colour profilers, my high end Nikon gear and my large format printer. Why don't one of you guys hating their RGBLED take pity on me and send it here. ;)

I feel sorry for you... I ordered mine through Dell Belgium on 18th January, and it's in UPS hands right now (coming from Poland, should be delivered Friday 29th January)...

I'll load Linux (Kubuntu) on it, and let know those interested how it goes. Without special drivers, I'm a bit afraid of how the colors will appear on the screen...

I like the theory posted earlier that SEC5443 is a controller chip for the panel, and might be the same between a WLED and RGBLED model. That's gotta more likely than "Dell screwed up big time". Occam's Razor, see.

I agree and I think this theory is also correct. At the very least, this theory has as much chance of being correct as the alternate theories. As much as I am down on Dell lately, its hard for me to believe they would screw up this bad or, even worse, intentionally mislead anyone.

So we've got a little difference on the Manufacturer, does it mean that is the difference between the RGB LED and W LED.
