Then we are running very similar environments. I will head over to our media creation department and borrow one of their color calibrators and see if I can get better results.

I know this is a lot to ask, but is there any way you could set your color profile back to default and go to http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1B.html in an attempt to see what the native gamma setting of your display is? You might even want to look at it with and without calibration to see if the gamma point changes. I realize that this is just "eyeballing" the display's gamut, but its better than nothing.

Other people would also be welcomed to post the native Gamma that they are seeing.

I dont know why I still think the color shows too strong, I lower my saturation to 90 through CCC.

BTW, i asked my sales rep, he told me dell was going to refresh the motherboard and add nec chipset which means if you want a USB 3.0, replace a new motherboard!

New ControlPoint Systems Manager on the Dell download site.

    Rev A14 2/3/2010

Checked it out, color presets seem the same. Left it in purple-tastic sRGB mode when I uninstalled it. When the software uninstalled, the screen went from purple to native.

Big clarification from Dell on the Control Point display presets.

NTSC mode is the native display mode. I was incorrectly told that it was 45% reduced color space before. It is actually 108% of the NTSC color space and should cover the AdobeRGB.

So, if you need Control Point, set it to NTSC mode since it is the native/full panel mode.

Also, they are working to see why Spyder 3 Elites read a native gamma of 1.8 while other color calibration devices are reading around 2.0. The issue could very well be one that Datacolor will have to address.

    Hi Havoctex,

Concerning the Precision ON button, I installed the beta of Office 2010 x64 and the drivers for the Reader, but it doesn't work. Is that because the new version? do I have to reinstall Outlook 2007?

    Thanks

Been there. Done that. The Precision ON button does not work with Office 2010 beta. You would need to reinstall Office 2007 (and it does work with Outlook 2007).

    Thanks for your help.

As you said, Outlook 2010 x64 is excellent (and very stable). What a pity to be obliged to reinstall 2007 :)

(concerning your advice about my credit card, unfortunately in Europe the system is different than in the US : I can only use the VISA insurance but in that case I have already the Dell's Insurance and the 5yr ProSupport...)

Finally, a representative of Dell (the Product Marketing Manager) contacted me and I hope that my situation will improve... and I won't need to ask you to be my lawyer in that Criminal Damage case
