    Hey giannini,

I appreciate the heads up, but I'm currently using Acronis Image Home 2010 build 6053, so I don't have any experience with Acronis Backup & Recovery Build 10.0.11345. With that said, I tend to put Intel's Matrix Storage Manager software in the crapware category. Simply because it creates more problems than it solves (non raid member ssd). I have been using Acronis software since 2005 (had to check my software archive) and I've never lost an image (unlike norton ghost). So yeh, it's a piece of software I highly recommend, especially the new version (2010), I actually restored an image from my desktop (core i7, X58 chipset etc.) to my loaner laptop (latitude e6400) and after allowing W7 to install the necessary drivers and rebooting, all I had to do was activate W7.:D

I also have no issue with Acronis 2010 Home.

Is it safe to unistall the intel Matrix storage Manager? I am not running RAID and do not see what benefit it has to me.

    thanks,

    Mike

We are using Acronis since 3 years now and we are very happy with.

I did some tests with my two SSD with no Raid and Raid0 and finally decided to use Raid 0 (as we are using external drives and network for our documents) because the results are much higher. For that I am using Intel's Matrix Storage Manager.

I did not find a way to create 2 different partitions (basic or dynamic?) one for Windows/the Programs and the other one for the Documents.
In Acronis or in the Disk Management, Disk 0 (476,94 GB) appear with 2 partitions : one active of 238,47 GB (C:\) and one Unallocated of 238,48 GB.

I am not sure if it is normal or not.

Someone has an idea how to create other partitions with RAID0?

I agree. I just thought it would be useful for folks to recognize the significant difference between the 64GB and 128GB drive. I don't think Dell highlights this difference on the site. People that are expecting a huge upgrade from HD performance won't see that much of an increase with the 64GB, while they will see a significant upgrade in performance with the 128GB version. It's something worth noting.

Yes, I've uninstalled it before on my loaner latitude e6400 without any issues, but your results may vary.

If you're using W7, it's normal. W7 will create an additional partition for system files on SDDs. I have the 256GB vertex and while installing W7, it created a 100MB partition.

For the TRIM? is that why the TRIM function is activated with RAID0 under Win7?

    Thanks! I appreciate that!

I do not have that partition. Perhaps because I did a clean installation with Acronis (no DVD installation disc in previous operating system such as Windows Vista)...
