Thanks for the feedback AdamHLG. Seems like some changes were made to the display.

havoctex, your presence here is invaluable, you have provided a lot of useful information I can't seem to find anywhere else! Quick question, are RGBLEDs still in short supply for the M6500? My sales rep was not specific when he mentioned my order was "awaiting parts". Thanks.

When my order was delayed three times, each time it was because of backorder of the RGBLED. If you call Dell's 800 # they can direct you to another extension/person who can lookup and see specifically what parts are delaying an order. The first person I spoke with didn't have visibility of that information so he connected me to another person who did... it was the 1600MHz RAM and the RGBLED in my case. Ask to see if they can transfer you to someone who can answer your specific question about the parts causing delay.

Trust me though, it is worth the wait. I'm loving this machine

I was reminded of this post recently as I was doing a clean install of the OS and I discovered I could not find the Web Cam Central installation disc.

Instead they had sent me TWO copies of the Roxio DVD Creator discs. lol.

I did find the Web Cam Central software however on Dell's FTP site:

    http://ftp.us.dell.com/app/R168730.EXE

I have not installed it yet though so I'm not 100% positive it is the correct or latest version. If not then I'll have to call Dell.

    -Ben

edit*: contacted dell and they are sending me the missing CDs. The link above is to OLD software from a few years ago. Don't want that :)

Thanks for the info Ben. I'm willing to wait, But I read in the studio XPS forums that they received a shipment of RGBLEG screens, so now I'm wondering if those screens are also for the M6500.

I would call and ask, but it seems as if when I call them for whatever reason, I get the guy that's brand new to the job, and has no idea what's going on. :D So far my order has been delayed 5 times.

Can anybody please confirm for those who have a SSD as the primary drive. Is the Roxio running properly?

When I got my M6500. I was using a Hard disk as the primary drive. And I can run Roxio without any problem.

But after I change the primary drive into Intel's next gen SSD and did a clean install. Roxio doesnt run anymore. I just freezes the whole system every time I execute the program.

Anybody encountered this problem for those who are using SSD?

This sounds like a software compatibility issue. A SSD vs. a HDD should not make any difference. I am assuming you are currently using windows 7? And you used W7 on your other system? Also what version of Roxio(?) are you using? Is it compatible with W7? A quick way to verify if it's compatible is to right click the .exe, go to properties, compatibility tab, and select Vista SP2. Restart the computer and try running it again.

My configuration is W7 Ultimate x64 and Roxio Creator DE 10.3. The Roxio comes with my M6500. It was working before the change from HD to SSD.

Obliviously I don't know how it was configured on your M6500 from the factory, but it seems other users are having similar problems. Did you try running it in Vista SP2 compatibility mode?

    Hi all,

Have you noticed an improvement in the Display Colors, since the BIOS update?

    Thank You,

After the bios update my SpyderElite profiles no longer load. I am going to have to recalibrate and post back.

On advanced eport dock my one monitor now shows the Dell post screen and boot up process. First few boots were flaky as hell. But seems to be fine now that Windows has updated drivers etc.
