Ok but i1Display 2 is from Xrite, right? So you recommend tu use PANTONE huey or one of the ColorMunki. Which one are you using exactly? ColorMunki Create, Design or Photo?

Is there any comparative review between colorimeters designed for wide gamut displays or are your comments based on your own experience?

I bought mine for $345 US dollars, with a $50 rebate, bringing the price down to $295. You can find current deals for $399, before $50 rebate, from several places including Calumet Photo. $349 (after rebate) is still expensive, but much closer in price to the competition than the list of $500.

Yes, i1Display 2 is from Xrite, but it is a colorimeter with older technology not designed for wide gamut displays. There are a few exceptions, those being the i1Display 2 colorimeters shipped with NEC monitors (and HP too) which are specifically calibrated (with special filters) for those monitors.

The Huey is also a colorimeter, and not one of my recommendations.

The Xrite spectrophotometers include the very expensive "i1Pro" packages starting around $995, and the less expensive ColorMunki, which lists for $500 but can be found for as low as $295 after rebate (what I paid for mine).

    I use the ColorMunki Photo.

There are a few reviews out there, but none that I would call "comprehensive." My comments are based a "synthesis" of available information, including the advice of many of the color experts on the forums at Luminous-Landscape.com, and my own experience with the ColorMunki. I've also spoken extensively with experts from Datacolor, the company that makes the Spyder 3. (They of course would tell you that the Spyder 3 is the best. :) )

I will try to find and post direct links to some "expert" advice that I trust.

    Hi Keith,

Thank You Keith that would be appreciated. Trying to find unbiased information on this is hard.

Thank You Keith & Bokeh for Your Time on this. :)

    Hi straden,

I don't use my m6500 for gaming, but the Windows 7 Experience Index for graphics and gaming graphics is both 7.2 for me - so this card should do pretty well.

One more question about ati 7740m card, why is it so much cheaper than nvidia cards? is it because of performance or certifications?

I have no idea, but I must say that I am glad with having saved that extra money. Enough to invest it in a 128GB SSD :D
