    Hey guys,
A total newbie in calibrating, got an GRB LED with my M17X-R2, which is very possibly the same Samsung screen some of you have.
Could you please help/direct me in this matter.
This article claims a calibrated M6500 RGB LED (gammut 1.8) to be the best screen in laptops.
So the real question if anyone tried this and got similar results? And, of course, what tools/software did you use for it?

    Thank You.

    Jun:

I have had no problems running Revit. Only 3DS Max locked up on me during a Mental Ray Render session. The FBX file I was rendering was quit large but I figured with all the power of this thing it would be fine. I'll let you know if I see any more issues. I have been using Vray for the last week and had no problems so far.

I would like to try this as well since anyone who looks at my screen always has good things to say about it, but I would like to have it working at its highest potential. As would everyone else I would think.

Did you calibrate yours or was it just fine @factory settings?

I made some adjustments by human eye and am very happy but I would like to have it done correctly since I use alot of images for rendering.

Thanks, I did not see that AnandTech review has been updated. It seems that 1.8 gamma is the best solution before Dell solves the calibration issue.

hmm - with a gamma of 1.8 i can not do my photo workflow... Maybe colors so accurate or we see now potential...

The Alienware M17X with 2CCFL i measured 3 days ago had an average deltaE of 1.3!! together with good gamma... So please Dell work on Precision again..

And if the HP rumour is true we will see in near future 2 new workstations (15.6 and 17") with an IPS panel and 10 Bit color... :D

    Best, Walter
