New M6500 Discussion Thread

You might indeed get one sooner if you reorder.

Apparently - if my latest experiences are anything to go by - Lodz can crank out a Covet in 2 days flat. Although I'll believe it when I actually see it.

 

From an ordering stand point yes I think you have everyone beat!

As for me I do have the one I'm using now but have thee covet on the way for a replacemnt. This only after waiting nearly a year and a half for a new laptop. I even have quotes back to early of last year when I started looking at the precision m6400's but never was able to go through with the purchase due to all the changes that kept coming down the pipe. (IE new 6500, Win7, etc.)

So for me it has been a very long rode! So for all of you out there that have waited bor ever, I feel your pain.

OK...It SHIPPED TODAY !!!! 3/27 on Saturday, NEXT BUSINESS Day....should that be Monday or Tuesday since it shipped on a Saturday? I don't have tracking info yet. (the applause swells in the background)

Tuesday is what they say....I ordered on 12/30 the first time...cancelled in Mid Feb due to USB 3.0 change, and reordered on 3/2/10.....it's been a long long road....

 

Damn dude you ordered and waited a long time what happened man? I would of called them up a lot and complained and whined all about it!

 

Holy smokes! What a wait! I ordered on 3/21 with an estimated delivery date of 4/7 so it seems production is back on track or scaled up.

I do have to say though I ordered the elitebook 8540w on feb 5 and canceled that when it was apparent they had no time line for delivery beyond sometime in April, plus the envy I used for 2 weeks before returning so it's been about a 3 month wait here. This will be my first Dell and it's looking promising please do post your initial thoughts when it comes in

 

Does anyone know how good the M6500 sound is for playing CD quality music? How good is the sound quality of the M6500 compared with the Sound Blaster X-Fi notebook express card? Is there a better sound express card than Sound Blaster X-Fi. What other options are available to get very good quality cd music out of the M6500?

 

If you don't find out before I receive my laptop I'll let you know since I'll be doing some audio work with my machine. It's nothing serious but I use the emu USB 0202 external soundcard and I'll compare the onboard sound to the emu and let you know.
