I agree with the m7740 vs 3800 choice for Photoshop work. Photoshop CS4 uses openGL for graphics acceleration, and so doesn't care which brand video card you have as long as it supports openGL. The ATI card works very well in this respect for Photoshop.

Video encoding is a different story, since NVIDIA and ATI use different programming to support video encoding. Video software support for NVIDIAs CUDA programming is more mature, although if ATIs openCL initiative gets going it will quickly overtake NVIDIAs proprietary CUDA solution (especially since ATIs software solutions are most often free, while NVIDIA charges a premium for theirs).

Thanks for the answer guys. Just to confirm, you have a working NEC USB 3 driver located in the USB devices in device manager. Don't know whyine is not recognized. Will investigate further

I've tried searching the thread (via NBR and google) but came up short: Has anyone posted any decent profiles for the Samsung RGB LED? If so, could I please get a link? Thanks in advance.

I agree with the choice for photoshop work in CS4 but I disagree with what you say about CUDA. CUDA is natively supported in the upcoming CS5 in a number of areas.

Even the main press release mentions it. No mention of OpenCL however.

You must have AdobeRGB set as color profile in control point before applying this ICC in color management.

Second your display brightness must be 5 clicks down from max.
This is also dependant on the most recent Dell Nvidia drivers.

This is only for the Samsung RGB screen.

Just an FYI got the stupid camera working, after uninstalling it in device manager and letting windows re-install.

And seriously it is far superior to the first generation one they carried over from the M6400 to the first batch of M6500s. Like night and day.

Thanks, I've got an ATi card so if there's any profiles for M6500 w/the ATi card floating around that'd be great.
