Interesting...I don't have the dock, but I do use the display port on the laptop itself. I will remove the IDT drivers and see how that goes, thanks.

HA! That did it! man that was driving me mad!

Yeah there are some bugs in audio on this machine for sure.
But my system has been much more stable since I switch to DVI on the dock.

My machine would crash about every 3-5 docks undocks using dual display port.
The audio fix was just a bonus, but I think that also has to do with removing the IDT driver as well.

    Glad it works now!

I still need to get the pics I took of the screens converted from RAW to jpeg and posted. Maybe I can get them done on the plane tomorrow while flying to San Francisco for Drupalcon. Glad I am taking the new tiny laptop.

So... if I were to be asking for the bazillionth time, how do I find out what panels my Covets have? Thanks. Hardware ID on Device manager doesn't throw up the panel type.

device manager -> monitors -> generic pnp ->right click -> properties -> details -> hardware ids (its the 2nd one).

I believe if it says LG in the ID its LG and if it says SEC in the ID its samsung

    Hi Vogelbung,

I use PC Wizard 2010, it's a sweet tool. It will give you more information about your
system then you want to know...

    use: PC Wizard 2010.1.93

    Hope this helps,

Really? I was unsure about it - the ID that came up may not be the display from what I looked up.

you can always try mannyA's solution. I used that and it was a blank so I just went through device manager and have some LG in my hardwareID name. you could always paste your hardware id on the forum and see who else matches (ctrl+c copies the selected item in the list box)
