We didn't have a known good monitor to compare them to. We could only compare them to each other. The Samsung could likely be desaturated to look like the LG.

Tonal gradients and response curves were similar. If the LG is a known 8 bit panel, then the Samsung is as well.

Maybe the pics will help you see what he is talking about. My impression of TheZoid is that he is a very smart and accomplished person. He may be new
to the M6500 and some of the tech that we work with, but I respect what he says.

    Hi Bokeh,

I here you Bokeh, my W700 has a Samsung display panel. And my Hp dv800 has a
LG display panel, the Samsung panel seems to be overly bright granted there is something
Seriously wrong with the W700. With the LG panel colors are sharp and the colors pop…

With the LG panel the colors seem to be more realistic not overstated.

Uploaded some Zion photos from today where we climbed Angels Landing. First remote edit using the 6500 and my custom profile. Interested in any feedback on screen appearance. These were shot raw and processed in Lightroom in prophoto and output to srgb. Love this machine for working in Lightroom and just need to verify output. Appreciate any feedback.

its amazing :) thanks for the upload again! I was using a samsung color profile earlier and when I switched to your profile the greens and blues became so much more vivid I actually started noticing parts of pictures I never noticed before plus the bits of over saturation seem to be remedied now. :D

I'm using 6500K Full Bright, I couldn't really notice a difference between any of the profiles but I'll check them out again when I am more refreshed.

    johnrg,

I cant really comment on them too much, they look good from here, but I was wondering if you could post a raw image for comparison's sake?

(greens might be a wee bit oversaturated?)

great photo's. The green looks a bit oversaturated to me too. In shot #3 the red orange looks a little oversaturated. I'd appreciate a RAW file too. I would try -10 on vibrance in LR2 and repost.
    Thanks for posting.

    Heddok and Altoid,

Thanks much for the feedback. I revised them at 10 for vibrance and saturation and re-uploaded the files...also a raw file can be grabbed from here... Save it and rename it with a .nef extension.

Strange...uploaded and same address as the jpg that it corresponds to.

Made it a .txt file and that worked. It thinks it's a .tif so rename it with a .nef after saving it.
