    Isn't the Latitude 13 almost the same as V13?

    Its exactly the same, except for Citrix virtualization options (its one of those "if you dont know what it is, you dont need it" kind of things...:);))

    A good serial port can be useful, we have a special old program which needs a serial port.

    Firewire sounds good for DV video editing, but would the V13 keep up with the demand?

    I don't see why the V13 would need a different soundcard or a second eSATA port. A removable small SSD can be useful but these are extortionately expensive. Network devices, beyond the existing ethernet and wireless?

    GPS comes with the internal Dell 5530 WWAN card for only ~£40 (eBay).

    The MoGo mouse looks interesting but won't fit the 34mm slot.

    :eek: Wow seems like you get the better priced deal with the Vostro V13.

    I just compared both systems and whoa i'll go with the V13 instead but i'll wait for them to show up on the Outlet Store. :)

    2GB -> 4GB RAM upgrade = $175

    Ouch, that's quite expensive :( Any alternatives?

    Premium Dell price because it's 1 DIMM. Btw does the V13 only have 1 memory slot because that's what i'm led to believe? Both the 2GB and 4GB sticks are in a 1 DIMM configuration. :confused:

    That's correct, only one RAM slot as a result of the thinness. Hence the costly upgrade. Actually, it's not a bad price, in that 4GB DIMMs cost around that on Newegg even. Personally, I decided 2GB was enough for my uses of this machine (not a primary computer, for travel, web, email, office apps, etc). A $175 upgrade isn't bad on a $2000 machine but on a machine under $700 it's a pretty huge premium.

    I figure with time the cost of 4GB sticks may go down, at which point I can upgrade it myself if necessary.

    I tried several times your files, but I am unable to OC the V13 (BIOS V2) in any way. The system keeps wunning at the same original speed.

    Any suggestion?
