Dell had better get the keyboard up to par.
THEN the V13 will be kickass.

ahh, i didnt read that. i rarely read engadget reviews because of their love of the iphone. I dont know how, but they are able to mention how amazing iphones are in atleast half of their articles

the keyboard looks to me to be the same as the xps studio 13 no?

No, of course not everything is about performance. I rate build quality/support at the top of the list. I'd rather have a solid notebook that does the job. Hence I have a business notebook. :D Thinness doesn't really mean much beyond a point. As long as the laptop doesn't look like it's made of the same plastics as cheapo toys from the dollar store, I am fine with that. :p

That's true, I guess its whatever market your in. I'm definitely willing to pay a premium for something that's 0.65" and 3.5lbs instead of 1 inch and 4lbs. But then again I'm carrying my laptop around in my backpack all day walking between classes

Same reason why I chose a business machine, but this is appealing because it's actually made with semi premium materials-Brushed aluminum case and all that. The ProBook looks good too, no doubt, but I'm not a fan of the glossy plastic island keyboard-if it had the brushed metal instead of the glossy plastic, maybe it would be more appealing..

Maybe my issue is glossy plastic in general, lol, any glossy plastic somehow has me thinking "cheap, cheap" lol :p :)

Having tested many of the inspiron keyboards, it's definitely going to be a subjective thing. I find the keyboard fine as long as there isn't any significant flex. Everyone will have there own opinion on the matter.

Why not an optional backlit keyboard? Or is Dell keeping it for their more expensive laptops?
