Ah didn't know they also offered it with the CULV cpu. Though it would be nice if they offered the SP(or even better the SL) cpu like the HP ProBook and DM3 offer. Then Dell could offer a nice battery slice to improve battery life.

This is a pretty good looking laptop. However, if you want Nvidia graphics, take a look in the ASUS forums for the UL30VT. It may be the laptop you're looking for.

Engadget stopped short of saying the keyboard is utter crap. I just got done typing on a keyboard with more flex than Gumbi, I'm not in any rush to go back.

There are other factors to consider besides $50 and a slightly better processor when making a purchasing decision. Based on the comments I'm reading on Engadget about the V13 and from looking at the pictures/specifications myself, the V13 doesn't stand up to the 5310m.

Well, you are certainly right about that
for instance, ergonomically the 5310m keyboard is more of a pleasure(for me at least) to type on than say, a thinkpads.
No picture can convey that, and since most people will never be able to demo these 2 models at their local brick and mortar storefront,it becomes more important to rely on info like from this forum to weigh their choices.

But the reality is that many make a purchase on looks/:cool: cool factor alone ... i e look at the new Sony X if it weren't for its stunning look, would anyone really shell out $1400-1500 for it?
With that in mind I can see lots of people spending $450-$649 for the V13.

You must not be a fan of the Adamo either?

Um the 5310m starts at $699 with a Celeron, $899 for the dual core. So its a lot more than the Dell, its also thicker too.

I think Dell has a winner IMO, its like an Adamo, but like half the cost. But people will still not be happy I guess.

The Adamo is different, thats a premium product. The Vostro on the other hand is Dell's entry level business line.
