Err SU7300...beats out some Celerons? V130 offer ULV Core i processors which is why I want one over my L13... :(

lol kinda half way. Your question was quite general to the kinds of Celerons. I actually used one with the Celeron single core and it was noticeably less snappy than mine with Core 2 Duo for obvious reasons.

The SU7300 I would imagine would get beat by a stick on the head by the ULV Arrandale processors plus the IGP is alot more potent.

I was referring to the Celeron used in the V130 the ( ULV U3600 2M Cache, 1.2GHz, 800 MHz FSB). :)

I take it the V130 doesn't use Sandy Bridge?

Ah yeah I used the Celeron in another V13 and I mean it was noticeably slower but Windows 7 was still usable. Brand new V13 is 349 with the SU7300 though.

They just refreshed the V130 with the ULV Arrandale processors so I doubt a Sandy Bridge would be out as I haven't seen the ULV versions out in many notebooks so maybe wait a few months.

Yeah I seriously doubt the V130 will get Sandy Bridge. They'll probably use that in the next refresh of notebooks. Comparing the V13 SU7300+GPU vs the V130 Arrandale i3/i5+GPU. Is there a huge gap in performance? I know either of those two notebooks are not game worthy.

    Man i'm still debating on buying a V13 for $349 :)

FYI: I just received the refurb unit I ordered from the Dell Outlet; same specs as the new $349 units. Not sure if it's because it's a refurb (however, the RAM and HD in mine were manufactured after 10/2010, so I'm hoping the motherboard is also not 1+ years old), but the PLL chip in mine was the same as the old one that the hacked overclocking tool worked with (RTM875T-606). I've verified that it runs perfectly fine on my machine as well with Windows 7 32-bit and BIOS A05.

Just in case someone has purchased a new/refurbed unit recently and assumed the overclocking had been completely ruled out a while ago; there may be hope :)

I pulled the trigger on a refurb... Total after tax was less than 300 (Thanks to the new 15% coupons). C2D processor, etc...

Same 1 year warranty and this is not going to be my primary, so I figured if it goes down for warranty work, then no biggie. Hundred bucks saved is still money in the bank...

Mine arrived the other day. Really like it so far as a browsing laptop. It's quicker than I thought so I won't be needing an SSD, overclocking, or adding RAM. Yes the battery life isn't that great, but what really caught me by surprise was having only one speaker on the left side. Thought the other one was broken, hahaha. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Not bad for 35,000 pennies.

Even a small SSD would help battery life as well as speed it up. Once you go SSD though, its really hard to go back. Sucks when a good drive is almost as much as the notebook, lol.
