Aggh... didn't realize they had the smart value thing for the 1400s as well since it wasn't listed directly under the smart values page. Now the price has been bumped up 100 bucks apparently. Looks like it came with 2gb standard as the smart value package too! Wish I could've gotten that over the 1500 :(. Oh well... at least my 1500 has a better graphics card... not that it'll matter in a few years when they're both painfully obsolete anyways.... and the 1400 would still be more portable then.

The Internet doesn't come with any computer. LOL. The wireless card that comes stock is the Dell 1390. It is able to connect to 802.11b/g networks.

Not sure if it is already in here but I wonder if the remote is included as I believe it is for the 1420. I could not find it as an extra option when I placed my order. Please say it is included...

sorry for the stupid questions guys.

But do you think the setup listed in my signature will be fast, or will i have problems with vista home premium?

Also, do you think games like counterstrike will run ok on it?

    thanks, much appreciated.

Take a look at this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=140489 Seems like it will cope ok on low to medium settings on many games. Command and Conquer 3 almost melted my IBM T60 with the ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 but I knew that. It worked but had problems and caused BSOD a few times = uninstalled it. It did work fairly ok with Medal of Honor on fairly low settings so with this card that would work great I think.

2GB should be sufficient for Vista Premium from what I have read. I would have taken the 8600 card if but since it was not available for the 1400, the smaller form factor won over the Vostro 1500.

Does anyone have any high res pictures of the 1400? I am sooo eager to get mine now. Two weeks away...

I compared the price in Sweden and in US. I paid some $1950 and the exact same setup would cost me $1630 in US. I need the SE-keyboard though so I can write å, ä and ö.
