Hehe yeah I've been watching that one =] thankyou though.

According to dell my 1700's should be here tuesday, I'm super excited.

I might even put together some good pics and a video review since I've had so much trouble finding them.

I'm in Australia so I ordered through the Australian site, not sure whether it's available on the American site. The Targus bag was $9.90AU when I ordered and there was also the free nylon case promotion so I got that too. It was at a sale price at the time *I think* because of the free nylon case promo, it's normally $75 AUD.

I will let you know how it fits when I get it :)

Is it possible to put 2 HDDs in a vostro laptop? This might have been answered already, and I"m sorry if it has been, but I saw somebody with a vostro 1700 who has 2X 160 gig hdds, it'd be awesome if I could put my current 120 gig hdd in my new vostro along with the 160 that's in there already.

As long as the drive is a SATA drive u should be OK look at the specs in my signature straight from the dell site.

u can configure the 1700 with (2)dual HDD out of the box.

That is very cool, I thought I would have to use an external housing for my old HDD, but this simplifies a lot of things.

This is kind of a random question, but does anyone know whether the Dell/Broadcom 1390 Wireless card (shipped with my Vostro 1500) is capable of WPA2 encryption? I'm confused because Dell's 1390 product page *and* the Dell WLAN Utility's help files both refer to WPA2 support but it doesn't seem to work.

With my router (Dlink WBR-2310; firmware 1.04) set to WPA2-EAS mode, the Vostro's 1390 card does not authenticate. In WPA2-Auto-EAS mode (this is a mixed mode accepting both WPA and WPA2 clients), everything is fine.

I'm 95% certain the issue is on the receiving end at the Vostro and its Dell 1390 card because my other laptop with Intel's 3495 card connects just fine in the WPA2-EAS mode and the auto mode mentioned above.

Wanted everyone to know that my vostro 1700's came yesterday morning for my girlfriend and I. They are amazing. Thats all I can say. Very sturdy, screen is amazing, 9 cell battery on full charge says 5+ hours (I haven't tested that but its still pretty nice) the 8600m gt performs amazing I play TF2 all the way up and get about 50fps and with WOW settings all the way up I average about 150fps only dropping to about 90 in spots. Got mine with vista business and there wasn't much on it except a stupid google toolbar which is a quick remove. overall I'm really impressed, best notebook I've ever seen.

Heres a lil view of my desktop.

Once I get a day off I'll get some nice pics up.
