    If you only have Wi-fi and BT, you don't need the connection manager.

    You should have disks with drivers and webcam software, I did with my E6400.

    You need to go to the Control Panel --> Mobile PC --> Power Options --> Change plan settings (on whichever power plan you use) and adjust the screen brightness on AC and battery.

    Thanks. BT? :) Do you mean a landline?

    I'll be connecting via WiFi, Landline and those USB stick things (cellular). :)

    BT = Bluetooth.

    If you don't have the built in WWAN (cellular) card, don't worry about it. I'm getting along just fine with the Vista connection manager.

    Thanks for the links.

    How will i install this? Which device i need to update with this driver?

    Right now in my device manager i can see only one device (SM Bus Controller) as unknown device. But system is not able to find the drivers when i try to update the SM Bus deriver using the extracted Intel_Matrix-Storage-Manager_A03_R190228.exe files. Can somebody help?

    I would like to know what device to update as well. My boot times should be faster with me E6400.

    I tried the hard drive, but that wasn't it.

    I'm still missing the Broadcom USH and SM Bus Controller. Google shows nothing, Dell shows nothing. Everything works, though.

    What do you have set for closing the lid in power options in the Control Panel? If it is set to hibernate or standby, change it to do nothing.

    This default mode is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Suppose you have to close your laptop in a hurry, put it away in its box or bag, then it wakes up somehow days later and boom - asplode/outbreak of fire.

    -1x laptop and house.

    Set it so that when you close the lid, it shuts down...

    I wouldn't worry about it waking up days later because that's really not likely to happen (unless you have a D420/D430, then the power switch might get bumped). The laptop's self-protection system will probably shut it down after a couple minutes due to overheating, but I have another layer of protection. If it is turned on, the system will prompt me to swipe my finger (system and HDD password). If you don't respond to within a minute or two, the laptop will shut off. :)
