    Sorry to hear that you are not happy with your M4400. I too had DPC Latency issues but they completely went away when I disabled the eSata port in the bios.

    Ouch. I would pitch a fit over that, for sure... I love the backlit keyboard.

    I have the media, it's the license I'm worried about. I've let them know, so now it's just a waiting game to see what they say about it.

    I'm really surprised about this. All of my previous experiences with Dell have been fantastic, flawless... this one is a neverending headache :/

    Thanks for posting that, I'm sure it will help a few ppl around here.

    I decided to give it a go, since they dont pick up the laptop for another two days. Sadly, no luck. I tried every driver i could find between 8.2 and 8.9. :(

    I was wondering, those of you who have "fixed" your latency, is it just that the red spikes happen so rarely that you're ok with it, or don't they happen at all?

    At best i went maybe one or two minutes without a red spike, but thats still not good enough.

    Hey Shub,

    In Vista64 i do still get the occasional spike, or at least DPC tells me...haven't actually seen it yet so don't know if it happens when i start an app or something.
    In XP they're completely gone! Do you get any audible issues with the spikes up to two minutes? If not, why wouldn't that be good enough?
    I use my XP install for music production which is usually very sensitive to this kinda thing but i never experienced any pops whatsoever after disabling Modular Bay, even with eSATA on because all the audio i use streaming is on an eSATA external HDD. What OS are you on?

    I watched for about 20 minutes and didn't see any red or yellow spikes after disabling my eSata port...

    @Per

    That's on Vista, right?
    I do really need the eSATA but as long as i don't hear audio skipping all the time i don't really care for red spikes....maybe in my drink but not when i won't notice it ;)
