I never understood why companies go backwards in certain generations... I mean whose idea was it to be like, "oh let's remove the little LED on the power brick, it's annoying me." Are there any other users with the FirePro? Just wanted to get back to the topic and see if anyone has been able to get better than 5 hrs of battery life.

Windows is estimating 3hr 25 minutes for the 2000M for middle screen brightness, WIFI, web browsing. Seems to be accurate. Dropped to 3 hours because I opened InDesign for half an hour.

This is with the "Dell" power option. Seems like its longer with "Power Saver". Forgot to switch to it though.

Is there anyone who has experience with Lenovo W520 and Dell M4600?

I would appreciate any help in this comparison. User friendliness, reliability...

the m4600 has better specs, but the lenovo feels better made because of all the small touches, and attention to detail,

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will go for the w520 although I really miss the numpad and the optional mini SSD. :-(

You can get a miniPCIe SSD with the Lenovo. And if you don't travel much a USB numpad works just as well.
