great, so far so good...installed perfectly, and the program specific performance drivers installed correctly. seems to be working, i will post back after some hours of use to see if any crashes happen, but this seems to be a good fix.

    thanks Diecast

a dell rep told me over the phone that this is common, and the work around is to boot in safe mode and install this update.

GLAD to hear that -- Let us know -- may just be the ticket to a lot of folks problems.

If it does work - maybe you can post detailed instructions - and anything else that you think might help:)

I use Maya 2009 & Zbrush 3, both are flawless for me so far (knock on wood)

Haven't tried Max, and Mudbox 2009 crashes instantly. The old version is fine though. A lot of Dell users with Quadros are saying Mudbox 09 is unusable for them too so not sure how long til it's addressed. Screwed around with XSI 7 but not long enough to be confident there's no bugs.

Be a real letdown if Max truly is broken on this machine, sounds odd since the other apps are smooth as buttah.

well, the good news now is that i just installed a second hard drive...and it automatically detected it and asked me to setup a RAID 0 array. it was simple and didnt need to reinstall everything. the bad news is that i already had a Max crash with the new drivers. the computer is fast as hell with RAID though.
