    Hi all,

I just configured the COVET m6400 with all the best possible choices besides the RAM which i left on 4GB and it totals to

    Total............................excl. VAT........VAT Rate..........Total incl. VAT
    Sub-total.....................£3,115.00 .....17.50 %...........£3,660.13
    Total Delivery Charge...£49.00...........17.50 %...........£57.58
    Total Price...................£3,164.00...............................£3,717.70

Apparently Dell is offering £308 off selected m6400 (expires 28/10/2008) so that will most likely bring it down to £3409.70

That is outrageous. The blood orange colour looks nice and am sure the screen will be stunning but i am not looking to impress but more interested in getting a very powerful mobile system..i will rather invest in a 24" or 26" display that will give me more room and also satisfy the need to have top quality display.

i have placed my order for the standard M6400 with all specs maxed out besides the RAM(obviously) which is at 4G and all am paying is

£2600 including VAT and shipping.(£800 difference!!!)

Cant wait to see you guys benchmarks..please post them as soon as possible.

What do you want to know about the screen? I got the 1440x900 screen with the regular cfl backlight. It's a matte screen, but the matte texture is smoother to the touch than the matte screen on my old E1705. Does that make sense?

I am planning on a similar configuration. Please let us know what you think about fan noise and heat. Also comments on weight with and without AC adapter would be helpful.

Did you have the 2/4GB turbo memory option when you ordered?

Anyone know what the power consumption differences are for TN vs LCD vs RGB LCD vs edge to edge RGB LCD?

I uninstalled and deleted the Ricoh driver for the web cam, that driver was crashing (I'm sure those problems exist in the 32bit version as well). Now I'm using the generic microsoft driver for the web cam and it's working much better. The Microsoft driver does not support the face tracking and digital zoom/pan, but those features are pretty useless anyway...

In order to use all 16GB of RAM, I plan to order an M6400 with a 64-bit OS. But since I'm not a big fan of Vista, I was going to select 64-bit XP. However, it appears that I can't order Bluetooth with 64-bit XP. Dell's website tells me that this is a no-no. I really want Bluetooth though. Any idea if it's possible to enable Bluetooth on 64-bit XP???
