Could a BIOS update fix this?
Seems like a sever limitation to not allow IRRT to external HD.

What are M6400 owners with RAID 0 using for auto backup (RAID 1) when docked?

I have 2x64SSD's in RAID 0 and am using Windows backup to a 500GB hard drive in the CDROM bay but would like to use IRRT to backup my mirror to the third drive if at all possible. Also anybody have any idea how to enable encryption throught the Intel Matrix applicaiton.

Can you actually have a hard drive instead of CDRom?
How hard is it to install?

I don't think so, I think it is limitation of Intel Matrix system with # of volumes supported. It states the # volumes limitation in one of the Intel Matrix manuals.
I just use SyncToy right now to sync the data. I am running Win.7 so know I will have to re-install from scratch when that time arrives (expiration of license/newer build/Release Candidate/Full release) so I never bother backing up OS.
I may try Acronis/Ghost or something when the time arrives to backup OS.
My strategy is keep OS load small and use VMWare for rest of system so it is quick to backup/restore to where I was before.

Ack, the RGBLED is way too bright at the lowest setting. I was on the laptop in dark, enjoying the backlit keyboard, but the LCD was painfully bright :(

I'm not sure about the IRRT, but I know that you can have more than one volume configured. I have configured my system with one volume as RAID0 holding the system data (OS and programs), and a RAID1 volume that has my user data. This way I get the benefit of RAID0 speed plus the security of RAID1 mirroring for my data. You may want to consider such a configuration yourself if you can afford the disk space. This pretty much makes the external backup obsolete (well, not quite, of course: your laptop could still be stolen, or a get run over by a truck...)

So what is the easy (and free) way to calibrate the RGB screen?

Borrow a hardware calibrator from a friend. I do not know of any good ways to calibrate an LCD screen without a hardware sensor designed for that purpose.

Agreed. Is there a way to further reduce brightness of RGB LED?
