Don't you just love the outlet. That's a really good deal considering the ram. On the retail site, the ram is outrageous. I couldn't find 4GB modules for anything less than around $400 a piece so I stuck with 8 total GB for now.

Does anybody have the non-E2E version (antiglare) RGB LED display?

I'm wondering if it is a half matte / half glossy display (like M6300 had) or a full matte display (like older models, such as M60).

In any case, I'd like to read some comments on both options (E2E or non E2E)

    Thank you.

    I

I have not seen the M6300 or the M60.

But I do have the non-E2E version (antiglare) RGB LED display and consider it full matte and very bright.

Guys, note to you if you use AHCI mode, DO, I say, DO install the Intel matrix drivers. I was getting an SSD stutter, and had relatively low (for SSD) speeds. Once I installed this, it redetected my drives and loaded different SATA drivers for them. My scores went up 30+%. I have not seen a stutter yet.

    Hello there,

i need some urgent help here :(.

After a suspect number of 3 "random" BSODs in a week, all with different causes (IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and many other DIFFERENT messages) i checked carefully my DDR3 RAM sticks and this is the scenario i discovered:

    1) My 2 DDR3 sticks have same size and specifications, but come from different manufacturers (HYNIX, SAMSUNG). They were both mounted by DELL.

    2) My 2 DDR3 sticks are mounted in A and B slot (under the keyboard) and work as dual channel, or at least so states VISTA

    3) When both the sticks are present they result error free when checked with memtest86+ (3 hours, 3 passes), but they fail consistently "windows memory diagnostics" tool test.

    4) Each one of the 2 sticks - when individually tested - passes flawlessly both memtest86+ and "windows memory diagnostics" tool test.

    5) Changing the slots in which the 2 DDR2 sticks are mounted does not help, "windows memory diagnostics" tool test still fails.

The question is: which is the clue ? Can it be related to the different manufacturer for the 2 sticks ? Can it be a dual channel issue ?
Where i should theoretically put the sticks to achieve dual channel ? It seems they worked ok in A/B slots, but the manual is not clear about it and leaded me to suppose that maybe the right slots are A/D and B/C ?

I think the problem i memory related, since i tested CPU cache many times and CPU itself passes many hours of stress tests like SuperPI.
Or can it be motherboard related (I highly doubt so) ?

BTW: As a sidenote, my M6400 bios is obviously rev. A03

I had the True Life or whatever it was called UXGA screen on the M6300 and it wasn't half anything, it was all glossy. I liked it a lot but after a few months with this RGB edge to edge display everything else looks a little weak. But the UXGA M6300 display makes my Toshiba P305D look like it's missing a bulb somewhere in it's low res display. Everybody has their own tastes but to me the edge to edge RGB is like nothing I've ever seen, both in color reproduction and bright bright brightness.
