Dell have staggeringly incompetent driver developers!
For a OEM the size of Dell, that is simply inexcusable

They are not even driver developers. They are driver testers, that test whether Nvidia, Synaptics, Intel etc drivers work well with the hardware on the Dell systems, and whether incompatibilities arise from using the new drivers vs. the previous ones.

ive rocked out cod4, nfs undercover, farcry 2, crysis warhead, tcvegas, and several other games with little to no problems sometimes just software updates solved all issue- several projects on autocad2010 and sketchup as well yeah ive had my share of battle with the video software and other drivers but hopefully its just software that needs to be upgraded.

    what psu are you using?
I've the 150w one and I heard of issues with power when running high end graphics etc..
I might need to get the 210w one.

Anyone got the slim 210W psu yet? I'd like to know the dimensions of it and maybe get a pic or two.

FWIW, I have been running five copies of WoW on my M6400 for about two months now. The only issue I have had was an "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" crash after exiting on the day of 3.1.0 patch. I went on ahead and wiped my wow installs, did a defrag, and then reinstalled them and have been working fine ever since.

I run my main client with all settings maxed except the AF and shadows, with vsync turned off. All of the other clients run at lowest settings. I am also using Dell's latest driver for the 3700m off their website.

Hi all. Just swiped the card on a new M6400 :)

    I think I struck a pretty decent deal. $2430 ($2704 w/taxes/ship).

    -- Precision Mobile Workstation M6400 Laptop: Intel Core 2 Quad QX9300 (2.53GHz, 12M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

    -- Certified Refurbished

    -- 9 Cell Primary Battery

    -- NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M, 1.0GB Discrete

-- Genuine Windows Vista Business X64

-- 17 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen WUXGA (1920x1200)RGB LED Edge 2 Edge Display

    -- 210 AC Adapter

    -- Integrated Finger Print Reader

-- 80 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)

    -- Back-lit Keyboard

    -- 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz (4 DIMMs)

-- Intel WiFi Link 5300 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card

-- Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module

    -- 8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability

Oh, and for color it didn't have one, and the others say silver... Does that mean it's the Covet? Would be awesome. I'm extremely excited to get this. Should be here Friday!

Good deal? I hope I didn't make a mistake >.> (I get nervous with purchases this big)

Also, was looking to replace the poor harddrive with WD Black 320GB (x2 Raid 0). Anyone have advice against that?

Thanks to everyone for the information on this laptop that you've provided.

    * NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M (1.0GB Discrete Memory)
