Finally got my Covet today. What a beauty! Too bad the first thing my co-workers noticed was the behemoth residing next to it. :p I expected a big power brick but wow.

What was the conclusion on the keyboard flex? I didnt think it would bother me but its more noticable than I ever expected. Is it something Dell can and will fix?

I believe in CS3 you could view your textures on a 3D object within Photoshop Extended, but you could not edit the textures directly on the 3D object. You'd have to use you original texture maps and then update the object in PS. It looks like in CS4 they allow you to edit the textures directly on the 3D object. It also looks like the really beefed up the 3D navigation tools as well. I remember they were pretty clunky in CS3. And remember it's a feature in Photoshop Extended, not just plain Photoshop.

Is the keyboard flex greater than that of your typical laptop, or just greater than that of your typical keyboard?

And, does your Covet have a glossy or matte screen? Sales is repeatedly telling me it has a matte screen despite all evidence to the contrary. Also curious if your order says TrueLife for the screen or not - mine does not. (Haven't received my laptop yet.)

IRRT in Continuous Update mode will automatically copy to the recovery drive (RAID 1) when the external HD is connected to the system via USB, or firewire, or eSata. Correct?

It will also keep track of all changes while the external HD is not connected and will automatically update only (and all) files that were changed while system was disconnected from the external HD.
    Correct?

My original delivery date was December 8th. Regarding the flex, if it were any worse I'd think it was broken. :p I need to check out some competition to compare directly before I say its greater than the avarage laptop. None of my other laptops has had this much flex tho.

    *SIGH*

It's always sad when consumers know more about a product that the company's sales and support staff.

Unless they have recently (as in the last week) changed the options, ALL Covets have a glossy screen. Don't let anybody tell you anything different.
