Oh that sucks. And personally, I've never had an experience with Dell customer service that didn't take 60 minutes+ and involve two transfers to the wrong department, with at least one dropped call during transfer to said wrong department. Grab a snack and put on a peaceful radio station.

Sorry about the extra wait too. I hope your experience goes smoothly.

See the thread "Re: Cinebench R10 M6400/M4400/M2400"

Benchmarks are unusual, FX 3700M gives equal performance to FX 770M !

No, you're not missing anything. I was thinking about the multitasking benchmarks and didn't properly qualify my statment. I am interested though in how the X25-M is able to achieve 11171 IOPS as I've been having trouble breaking 8000 IOPS on a dual Fibre channel connected RAID 50 set running on a EMC DMX running PowerPath so I'm a little skeptical of those numbers (I suspect some sort of caching going on). Longevity aside there’s no doubt the Intel X25-M offer the best value/performance proposition in SSD drives on the market. If I hadn’t had the 30% off coupon when I ordered my system I would have seriously considered buying a couple of X25-M’s but I figured at a price of 489.00 a piece (with the coupon) the Samaung SLC’s would be good enough especially in RAID 0. I figured at this price if they didn't work out I could probably sell them on Ebay and at least break even and get the X25-M's or maybe even the X25-E's if they become available in the near future.

Dell is not including a manual with this laptop, it should be on one of your cd's maybe a recovery/ user disk im not sure, but a lot of manufacturers are doing this now. woo hoo! - someone saved a tree!

Sadly, no. It was a single use coupon that expired on Nov. 5th

    Thanks for the links.

Well that puts an end to SLC, MLC, HD power usage debate and heat. All three give the same notebook battery life (within a couple of %).

Anyone using RAID 0 7200rpm HD in a notebook, it would be great to know what you think of the noise level. Unfortunately none of the above very detailed reviews and comparisons say anything about noise.
