That's what I was about to say. I was still tilting my head at an angle like a German Shepard, though, making sure I wasn't missing something.

What is the "Cffl screen" ? Is this the 17 inch edge-to-ege LED glossy screen?

OK, cool. Did you get the matte (non-glossy) finish? I ordered the covet, and I'm worried about what I'm going to do when I'm using it at the office with all the reflection people are talking about.

Some days back there was a post that talked about mixing RAID 1 and 0, but clearly my interpretation of that post was incorrect.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Okay so Dell should state that they offer limited customization. :)

At this stage my time is so limited I'll have to leave it to luck of the draw.

Okay so with respect to RAID on the M6400:

One either has all of both HDs RAID 1 (0% speed gain, 50% HD space, and 100% redundency).

Or all of both HDs RAID 0 (~100% speed gain, 100% HD space, and 0% redundency).

Nothing inbetween. Seems a bit like Russian Roulette.

If one brings into the mix an external backup option then one can have RAID 0 on the M6400 and automatic external back up (which is not really RAID 1 but people are calling it RAID 1). True RAID for me is a self-contained system.

The problem with the internal RAID 0 (with external backup/RAID 1) is that if one is travelling and the more risky RAID 0 gives a problem then your ^%$#*@.
Especially so with the OS on RAID 0 which there is no way to avoid with the M6400 RAID 0 option.

they just shipped two 3700s in two days to try to fix my computer....now that my computer doesnt work at all and i have to ship it back, it seems there is big issues with these cards(or just untrained technicians in the field)...they have lots of these cards. is anyone else getting errors from their 3700? drivers crashing when working with 3D programs? im considering just returning my laptop and getting the lenovo.

Yes, you can. The Matrix Raid controller supports it in the M6400 as do most advanced RAID controllers and I have configured many servers with multiple RAID sets on the same drives.

This guy has a screen shot of it set up.
