LOL. I wish I'd waited to complain about my M90. After 2 years intermittent failure it finally died. I complained 8 weeks ago and received a new M6300. Just wish I'd waited that bit longer! :)

Sorry but there is no additional extended life battery available for the M6400. Thre is only the primary battery. You can order multiple primary batteries but there is no 2nd battery option.

do you know who will manufacture this product? There has been a displayport to dvi cable made by startech on Dell's site for a while (and in the description it specifies that it is single link 1920x1200 max supported resolution).
this belkin cable does not specify whether it is dual link or not, nor does it specify a maximum resolution. It is $80, and the estimated ship time is 3-5 weeks. I read your post on this thread about the e+ port replicator and needing the displayport to dual link adapter last month and you said the new adapter would be available Dec-Jan. This belkin cable was just added with a 3 to 5 week delay in shipping, so i assumed that this must be it. I would have linked the cable to thread, but i need 15 posts in order to do that.
Is this the cable you were referring to? or is it something entirely different?

thanks again, i'm dying to get my monitors working at full resolution. 1280x800 is almost painful. I feel like people can read my emails from 30' away. :)

I've posted the same answer a couple of times.

However I was not able to get answers to the following:

    1. Why does Dell not allow dual HD with no RAID as a purchase configuration?

    2. Will a blue-ray DVD become available?

    3. Will 4/8GB Turbo Memory become available?

    Thanks.

    1. This is only an issue with Vista Ultimate and it will be allowed in the very near future. There is nothing that keeps you from loading your M6400 with this configuration.
    2. Very soon.
    3. No, there is no data showing that this adds any performance to the M6400.

havoctex or any other m6400 user, do you know if the m6400 has the Intel Matrix RAID chipset?
I would like to have the following configuration (numbers refer to disks, letters to partitions)
    1A and 2A : RAID 1
    1B: Windows
    2B: Linux
( and optional if possible )
    1C and 2C : RAID0

So can anyone positively confirm that the M6400 has this chipset?

I've finally been officially anointed into this forum (it was dell-ivered a half hour ago).

So far, screen = awesome. It's glossy, but so was my Inspiron 9300 so I'm used to it. The color is phenomenal, and I haven't even calibrated it yet. Keyboard flex? Don't notice. It's actually a great feeling keyboard. Soft landing with a quiet rubber rebound.

It's more red than orange, but still nice to look at. And even though it was shipped yesterday, the BIOS is still rev A01. Since I'm at work, that's about all I have time to note. Much of this has been said already.

Definitely worth the price (after using a 25% off coupon and negotiating a $200 credit for the delay)

Just got mine today as well. But dude - check your CPU. I got the Q9300 instead of the QX9300 I ordered. Whats the differences?? Should I be calling Bahrain about this?

DUDE! That sucks! They didn't give you the EXTREME version of the CPU. I hope they don't do this to me!

Sorry, can't help you there. I got the T9600 (save a couple bucks, upgrade later).

Do they even make a Q9300 for notebooks? I'd check that on Intel's site. If they don't, then I assuming their CPU checker tool might just be reporting it wrong. Or they managed to shove a desktop CPU in your notebook using a mobile CPU motherboard.
