    the only problem i seem to have is that i can't find the AHCI driver to load XP. I have vista loaded and need to load XP in a dual boot format... HELP SOMEONE ------

    The only real issue I have is with the screen on the 1400 WXGA+ Glossy, it has uneven backlighting (a lot worse than my previous e1505 and 700m) and also has a grainy/screendoor effect which is very apparent when looking at high res photos.

    I have no problems, unless you count a wobbly battery, but that is more of a qualm than an actual problem. I love my 1400.

    For those of you who have the Vostro 1400 can you please tell me if the fan runs constantly like one user has said?

    My fan does not usually run. I did notice that it ran a little bit more and seemed slightly hotter under vista, but with xp I have yet to actually notice the fan.

    oh ok, seeing as i want to run Vista with it can someone else who has Vista on their Vostro 1400 tell me if their fan runs constantly?

    Does anybody have a grainy/ blurry wxga (true life) display? I can notice this easily beacause I had a sony vaio FZ before.
