I have Windows 7 Enterprise x64 installed in a dual boot configuration with Ubuntu 9.04.

The only difficulty I had with installation was the installer not working correctly with the NewModeUS module installed. I needed to remove that do the install and reinsert before it would work correctly. This was also a problem with the Windows 7 recovery console.

The only extra drivers I have installed currently are the 1700M and Bluetooth drivers from the Dell website.

Every other aspect of Windows 7 has been great. No complaints at all. Mine was a fresh install.

No not really. Just saying that other than the touchpad, bluetooth and the video card they work. I try not to install something unless its really necessary. Will update the touchpad drivers this evening though.

Dell posted new Windows 7 IDT audio and touchpad / pointing stick drives on 12th October. Give them a try.

I tried the newer mouse pad drivers. They seem to work fine however they still haven't fixed the loading animation for the mouse pointer :( Do you all have the same problem?

Dell has posted a driver and application for Intel storage matrix on October 12, specifically for Win7 32&64bit.
What do you guys think? Are you installing this stuff - my system is running pretty good without it.

    regards,

When something loads, typically you'll see a small blue circle around your mouse pointer. Normally it spins however with the installation of these mouse pad drivers, the animation stays static
