Fingerprint reader?

 

My fingerprint reader is working fine. I installed the "ControlPoint Security Device Driver Pack" and the "ControlPoint Security Manager" from:

Ok lemme see...your config is the same as mine so i should be able to find thoose hardware id's....back in a sec

 

Yeah it's you SD card reader (SD host adapter)....did you run the Ricoh installer?

 

I don't find any drivers for my SD card reader in http://support.euro.dell.com/suppor...2DD4J&SystemID=prec_m4400&TabIndex=&typeid=-1 :S

Where I can find the Ricoh installer? I'm using Win 7 32 bits.

It's a common driver people over look to install.

 

I had the same problem, card reader driver....

 

The answer didn't look clear from the discussion (or I just missed it being early in the morning) but the solution I found for the SD driver was to download the Ricoh driver from the "Vista" drivers on the dell site. It worked fine under Windows 7 Professional.

You just select Vista from the operating system drop down menu on the drivers and downloads page.

EDIT: forgot to mention you still have to select the correct "bit" platform (I.e. 32 bit/ 64 bit)

I've installed the "Vista" drivers and no problems. It works fine under Win 7 Pro

 

Probably why i've never had the issue. When i installed Win7 there were no drivers online yet so i had to get the Vista64 drivers anyway.
But good to know for when i get my retail copy
