Update1: it worked after disabling the switchable graphics. Should I try to install the driver for the new card and then enable them back again?

That's basically the idea. You'll need to modify the NVIDIA drivers with new device and hardware IDs.

Seems odd though. With switchable graphics enabled, the Intel GPU is driving the laptop display, so it should work even if the NVIDIA driver is not set up properly.

So, I switched to the 110W 7750 Quadro RTX 5000 VBIOS kindly provided by @song_1118 in this thread; interestingly, it caused a ~1000 point drop in 3DMark Time Spy scores.

There's something going on in the hardware; very interesting.

The 90 W VBIOS update posted by Dell_Mano_G in this thread also works well for the 7540 generation's RTX 4000 and 5000. The executable as downloaded from the website may not be directly used (due to the embedded batch file requiring a perfect string match). Instead, one has to open the executable as an archive, and then choose either one of the executables within it (appropriate to the installed GPU):

I observe a ~1600 point uplift in 3DMark Fire Strike Graphics, and an overall 10% increase in performance (link):

More benchmarks incoming, if I have the time.

I'm actually purchasing a 4K Dell Precision 7530 in "LikeNew"-condition. Only caveeat is the P1000 GPU. Has anyone here a working P3200 / RTX 3000 card laying around for a fair price tag and willing to ship it to germany? ;)

I just realised I still have my RTX 3000. Are you still in the market for one?

Thanks for your reply and the answer is No. I was able to find an incredible deal for a 7730 equipped with Quadro P5200 so the 7530 is long time gone :D

Will that work with a 7730?

Don't think so, unfortunately. It's the DGFF2 form factor, whereas 7730/7740 requires DGFF3.
