just tested to confirm that it works normally on mine (i hate using the touchpad click). everything seems fine. try uninstalling and deleting the driver files and rebooting and reinstalling?

otherwise, my only guess is that you have the double click speed set too high. if you double click a file name, it should open it, not allow you to edit it.

    Hey,

When you change the volume in Win7, do you have the On Screen notification that appear?

Also, I am interested in the latest Dell Control Panel, as you can disable individual devices when on battery. However, I hate the new on screen notification, as it exists full screen videos and games and steals focus, anyway to install the latest Dell Control Panel, but use the old Dell Control Panel Notification? How do you guys live with this annoying issue?

Yes, the volume notification appears for me.

As for the second part, i agree, it is insanely annoying but i dont really know what other choice we have.

I do have the annoying volume control noti appearing. Have learned to live with it.

There is one thing you can do. In DCP if you go to:

System and devices > Manage system and devices > Display settings

"Check which on-screen notifications you want activated"

"Keyboard Backlight" is the only one I left checked, because if you can't see it you can't tell if it's "On" or "Auto".

For sound, you don't need it, windows can tell me if it's muted or not. Also the screen brightness doesn't need the on-screen noti - you adjust it to how you like it at the moment.

I uninstalled my Dell control Panel, downloaded the latest one and installed it. All the onscreen notification works, except for the Volume. And yes, the check box to show the Volume notification is checked, I also tried unchecking it, Apply, and recheck it.

I have the latest IDT drivers.

I use Win7 RC1 build 7100 64-bit, and Dell Control Panel has been downloaded from the Win7 64-bit driver support page.

I know it works fine under my Vista 64-bit (I have a dual boot setup).

    It's ok guys!

I found this tool called 3RVX which is free Volume OSD.
    http://matt.malensek.net/software/3RVX_2.5.msi
Works perfectly under Win7. You can also hide it's system tray icon and set it to start when Windows starts.

You have different skins and you can make your own.

What is interesting is once install you have a folder "Developers", and when you run the tool, and chnage the volume, NOW the Dell on screen notification for the Volume works on my end, but the developer tool must be used... and that means pressing U for up, or D for down, when focused on some command prompt window.
