    Hi heese

The USH controls other things too, like the smart card reader. Anyway, if you see the exclamation mark then it means the drivers aren't functioning correctly, so in a fashion it already is disabled.

However, if you want to make sure, right-click the device in Control Panel > Device Manager and choose 'Disable'. It's not a BIOS-level deactivation, but you really don't need to worry about it anyway, it's no threat.

Or you can just install the drivers.

I think the drivers is "Dell ControlVault", if I remember correctly.

    Not exactly...

It's "Dell ControlPoint Security Device Driver Pack" for drivers only.

I have E6400, on a dock connected to a Dell 30" 3008WFP via DisplayPort and a Dell 22" 2208WFPt via DVI. I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and all of the newest Dell Support drivers for Win 7 x64, using Vista x64 when necessary.

I have an issue with color banding on any gradient images displayed on the 3008WFP via DisplayPort. I have used another DisplayPort cable and experienced the same problem. I have also connected via DVI without a problem, but I cannot run at 2560x1600 with DVI or VGA from the E6400 on the dock. The 22" via DVI does not have any display issues. The problem occurs with or without the dock, but always with DisplayPort.

Is anyone else having display issues with DisplayPort on a Latitude with Windows 7 on a 3008WFP monitor? The best way to describe the issue is that it appears to have low color depth, but is set to True Color (32-bit).

I do not have any other DisplayPort monitors or PCs to test. Dell is refusing to provide any support because I have Windows 7.

So you are saying that teh monior is at 16-bit even though you said 32-bit?

If so, I know the problem. It's a driver bug, look for a different Nvidia drivers.

I have the Dell U2410 via display port to my laptop, and I fixed the problem. I use the 186.81. Make sure you UNINSTALL the old drivers FIRST, restart your computer, and install the latest one.

It might be 16-bit, the colors look better than 8-bit but not enough color to cover gradient transitions. When I switch to 16-bit the display quality looks the same, so it's 16 or less.

EDIT: After installing the driver from the NVIDIA website, the problem has been resolved. Thank you.

has anyone tested the latest version of the intel mywifi drivers? (13.0.0.0 / 13.0.0.107) for win 7x64? I don't know why, but they don't seem to work at all for me.

Has anyone had any problems with the touchpad driver crashing after resuming from sleep? It happens every now and then and I'll have to kill the Apoint.exe process and restart it through keyboard shortcuts.

No, but I had my touchpad and trackpad stop working where sometimes when I sleep with my mouse attach. I thought it was a RC bug with the latest drivers. Try older drivers (Vista ones if they are none for Win7), I recall having them working properly.

The fix was to plug a real mouse, open the laptop mouse setting panel, change a setting and bring it back to what it was, hit apply and then it works again.
