I'm very intrigued about this laptop now that it can be bought for around $800 on ebay.

For you owners, after using it for a while are there any problems or regrets you have with this? I really like the design, screen and keyboard but I always thought I wanted a laptop 14" or smaller.

I've been using one since Oct 2010 and I have no complaints about this laptop. I use it primarily at work (I'm a sales eng) and it's ran fine. I used to use my E6400, but the Z is a lot lighter and thinner, so even with the bigger footprint it's easier to carry around. The 16" screen is great. This is my first laptop with a solid state drive. Those are nice, boot time is really fast. I do wish the ram memory could be upgraded by the user, but because the ram is soldered to the motherboard it can't.

The first one I bought had an eight cell battery. I returned it because the eight cell stuck too far out the back for my taste. That particular model had 4gb's of ram, but I noticed the computer could only use 3 gb's of it. I don't know if that's because of the 32 bit OS or not. You may want to consider that before paying a much higher price for 4gb vs 2gb.

I'm surprised how cheap they are on e-bay. I purchased mine from the outlet. After a coupon discount it was 731.-- total. It has a 128gb hd and 2gb of ram with the su9400.

while they might not be as thin or as classy looking as the Z series, dell is about to launch a range of thin laptops, the pictures were leaked recently. might be worth taking a look at them before deciding
