    Most leaks are intentional.
This way the media talk a lot about it, so it's free publicity right there.

Heh...not the best photos to be leaked IMO if that's the case. Mr. Latitude Z.

I agree with Weirdo, it's not you. It's just that looking at laptop design and features from Dell system is always a big jump for the good. In the sense that you get to say "nice" or even "Wow" on the features or system design. But this model looks like an alpha prototype design, or an old system design they had on shelf where they decided to finally release.

I know what I'll say is going to be funny in many ways, but it doesn't deserve the name "Latitude", especially "Dell" on it.
Dell revived all the system looks with impressive system, even for Dell Home. I mean look at the Dell Studio, they look nice, original and smart position of ports option for a powerful GPU. The Latitude E series took a early 90's look system and make modern looking, with impressive feature such as extra long battery life that few systems today even come close to, eSATA, Display port, powerful GPU option for some models, solid construct and the rest.

Adamo! Sure it doesn't have interesting power, BUT it's freaking slim and aluminum body really adds to the system.

But the Z one.... mid 90's style, unimpressive power, very old sticker, nothing special about it really. Maybe weight... but ok.. we have to see with the battery the true weight. Everything is glossy plastic. I mean from far... I could swear I see an Acer system that wants to be n HP, or an HP system that you find in stores. NOT a Dell.

If you want to see if differently. it's like a student in class that showed visible progress to be top of class, and then drop down in one shot to an D-. Any teacher will notice this and wonder what happen? And if this was before college, I am SURE that the teacher will seek the student to redo the test, as it just doesn't make sense.

Not that I was interested before (worlds thinnest laptop doesn't interest me in the slightest), but the 1.2Ghz just makes me cry. I really hope the e4210/XT3 laptops don't use 10W nehalem parts. Without the northbridge and its heat, they should be able to use 17W (LV) CPUs at least.

While the notebooks can use higher TDP parts, doesn't mean they will. Longer battery life is a priority for these notebooks.

Yeah. Sorry for being well informed and therefore being sceptical :p

The problem is that probably a good deal of us think it's an abandoned prototype - because that sticky out bit at the end is a little, well, hokey on a production machine, even when populated with a battery.

    :(
I want a 1.8 or 2.5" HDD with no optical and a standard or low voltage arrandale. Might have to settle for a second HDD module or air module on a e4310. The same setup with a multitouch screen would be too much to hope for.

if you think of this as a netbook with a large screen and ridiculously low weight of 1kg, then i think its a very good laptop. i travel a lot and i mostly do office stuff and watch movies (netbook is good b/c of low weight, but i'd like a larger screen)

Yes, except this will probably cost $2000 and a netbook costs $400.

Seems like you will be happy with the Dell E4200. There are, or at least were, bargains from the Dell outlet store. I have one, for the incredible price of $588 shipped, and I have been very happy with it. I take it everywhere.
