You've missed understood me, this allows you to access functions WITHOUT having to minimize open applications (with or without the show desktop button). The shortcuts appear in front of all open applications so you can access shortcuts without having to minimize anything at all.

Which is EXACTLY the same as the taskbar in Win7 or the quicklaunch in earlier windows versions.

when you put your finger on the right screen bezel, shortcuts pop-up on the screen, the same kind of shortcuts you can manually put on your taskbar ;)

According to device manager, the 128 gig SSD is a Samsung.

I can't believe that the Vista drivers would not work with Windows 7. We've been running Win7 for months and have not run into too many problems; especially hardware wise.

I have a HP P1505 printer at home and there are no Win7 drivers for it, but the Vista drivers worked fine.

I would not run WinXP. I'd use Vista before I'd use WinXP.

One thing that concerns me is the battery was fully charged two days ago and it's been in sleep mode for that entire time and the battery drained 48%.

Seems like they may need a problem there.

I'm still waiting for my 8 cell battery. It's been delayed twice. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but I just checked and it still doesn't show it as shipped. I ordered the 4 cell battery on the laptop and then added on the 8 cell. Came out cheaper that way. May have been a mistake but we'll see.

The side bezel looks like a good place to put access to Dell proprietary functions.

Thats John. I would most likely order the extra 8 cell as well. What kind of battery life have you been gettting with the 4 cell?

Is you Latitude On enabled? When sleeping, it will try and connect to your exchange server for email. You can change the length of time between calls.
